Two questions, examples of both in a single photo I just ripped from the bay:
∙ Are these black and silver (metal?) initial markers generally associated with a certain time period?
∙ Does "Qualitá Exportation" have any usefulness in saying anything about the quality of the felt?

The price label shown above has only a hint of a red smudge in the bottom-left cell. The loose removable copy has a big red 7 there.
Measures in at 54cm. So I assume it is slightly shrunken, with the unreadable numeral on the size tag being a 4.
Really easy to see the corrugated sweatband because the seam is broken there. The surface area of the sweat is in pretty good shape, despite all the gold worn off the logo. But it...
Well unfortunately it is way too small for me and in pretty rough shape. But at least this hat is actually a Borsalino.
I planned only a quick brush off before taking initial photos. Then I looked at the tags inside and found "COBALTO" which I assume should be a blue color.

So you don't think they threw some beaver into the mix to go with those labels?
I know they sell beaver now (Beaver Medium Brim). But new owners means new ways of doing things, so doesn't mean all that much regarding older products.
Just barely cheap enough that I would feel super-awkward trying to return it. I have no reason to think it was sold in bad faith. And it's still attractive with a good high-quality body.
I just pray I am successful getting it to hold enough of a stretch. If I need to try and resell this thing...

Got this pretty little black trilby with a Qualita Superiore liner and gold print on the sweat that seems to be that of Borsalino, plus a cute little "feet" pin on the bow.
(Hat sits a a little high in the photos because of being too small...
