I am no expert, but I think that bump is quite standard in that position. I have several hats that are stamped in the above shape and they show this as well. Perhaps some strange steaming techniques could solve this if it bothers you indeed. I always assumed it was natural to be that way -

it still looks huge, but I am indeed rebashing him a little to be a tad higher. It still looks more than high enough, but then it looks a little less fedora like and more cowboy like, I'd like to avoid that (if that makes sense to you, congratulations for understanding me on this one) :-) -

My mid-brown campdraft has arrived, and I (tried to) put a teardrop on it. Amazing looking hat, just loevely. Brim is a little wider than expected, but still excellent. The material feels nice ,and was very easy to form into the required shape. It arrived lightning fast from EA. Small funny... -

The way to make them not only tolerate it but like it, is to include an occasional hat for 'her' once in a while :-) But then again, I have a max of 5 hats at all time, so nothing like some of the guys around here :-) -

Leather hats?
The thing about leather hats, in my opinion, is that they don't look good on pictures, you should check them out in real life. I have the above one and it looks 10 times better in reality. -
