Thanks for the welcome, mysterygal.
I think I've slight bags under my eyes for 20 years, give or take 5. I've tried the cucumbers and couldn't see a difference, but man I smelled good. They're one of my favorite foods. lol I've also tried teabags.
One thing that disguises them fairly well...
Third photo down - I swear the guy on the left looks like Rodney Dangerfield, and the guy on the right looks like an actor, also...can't think of his name.
Anyone else see it?
No, I don't collect potatos that look like Nixon. lol

<shudder> I'd forgotten about broad, old lady, ball and chain, chick or chickeebaby(which is kind of beatnik so semi ok). I wouldn't protest too loudly to babe. I definitely approve of cutie-patootie, and I would welcome anyone who can imitate Jerry Lewis decently to say..Laadyyy..Heyy...

I prefer not to be called 'Ma'am', it makes me feel old and dowdy - and why is it that so many of us are first called that by young male grocery transporters?
I do use 'Ms.' and am glad it was invented. After all, at almost 50, but divorced, I'd feel silly being called 'Miss', which...
I finally found out at age 44:
Mat. g-father - Scotch, Irish
Mat. g-mother - German, Irish
Pat. g-father - Scotch, Irish
Pat. g-mother - German
The family who adopted and raised me: German on Dad's side, English on Mom's
Traits? I have no idea. Don't know if the few traits I've...
Hello Ladies,
I'm relatively new to FL, and brand new to The Powder Room.
No orange on or near my face. I've heard about not drawing attention to circles, bags and wrinkles by leaving bottom lashes alone. I've tried, but haven't been able to yet. You've encouraged me - I can do this...
Hey Doghouse - someone on another forum had passed this along and I thought of you.
http://www.findyourspot.com/
It's a friendly site in that you can sign up for info about many things at the end, but they don't guilt you. It was kinda fun. They list your top 24 matched locations at the...
Interesting to hear about other sides of the fence - in VT, we discussed yankees and the south about as often as we discussed the Boston Tea Party. I got the impression in TN that they were still at war with us; not in a hateful way, but I'd bet a week didn't go by that I didn't hear the word...
My vote is: Portland first, Colorado Springs second. I was on my way to Portland when I got waylaid in Nebraska. No, I don't wanna talk about it. :eusa_doh:
whewww.. culture shock. I lived in VT until age 15, at which point we moved to TN. I swear I couldn't understand half of what was...
Howdy from an ex-Cookevillian and ex-Knoxvillian!
Michaelson, did you know there used to be a girl's reform school in Tullahoma? Last I knew the buildings were still there, but they got rid of the 12ft fence with constantine wire. :whistling Whoo meee?

S'ok. I had fun, 'met' some people, found a new forum, and learned something. :cheers1:
I don't want to put it in the trash - it's too purty and just adds to the landfill. That's why I threw it out there. If anyone's interested, toss me a number. If not, I'll probably keep it and fix it...
Well, here's the scoop - Don of Don's Coins and Jewelry said the mainspring has sprung. I asked if that was bad. He said yep.
He directed me to his clock repair shop 3 doors down where an older man looked at it and also said yep. LOL
Is anyone still interested in this poor lil ole ticker...
I'm guessing that if someone wants to do a good job and oil it as well, that it needs to be taken apart. I looked into that, and don't have the inclination to buy the oil, tools, etc. that are specialized for it. I have a few things that could substitute for the genuine article, but don't know...
Hi JS,
That's kind of what I'm thinking since there's no obvious dings or damage. I don't remember my dad ever actually using it, so if he got it from his father, it probably sat in his jewelry box for ohhh. . .50 years or so.
Additional information is always appreciated. Thanks for...
Hiyas!
This isn't a wearable or something one keeps on their person like a lighter, so I hope it's ok to post about. If not, please let me know? I got sidetracked from the items I was working on. I thought someone from this worldly group might have information about it.
It's a bud vase...
Nooo...I didn't take it as criticism at all. Mom died 6 yrs ago, and Dad just went last year. I'm very sentimental and attach a lot of meaning to possessions that they owned. An item may be worth less than a cent on any market, but if it meant something to them, it does to me. That's why it's so...
