Chris Conner- what a sexy, smokey voice. I had never even heard of her until she was listed on a Johnny Mathis box set. He said she was an influence on his style as he saw her perform night clubs in San Francisco early on.
Decodence. Cool post. Crying shame it got trashed right off the bat. No point in my responding to any more of it. Opinions are just like navels. Back to lurking, I go.
I think we've all been conditioned to fill our luxurious free time with more activities. Movies at home, video games, sports events, shopping, exercising, road trips, eating out, socializing, etc. and etc. all make life seem more hectic than it has to be. In the "golden age", I wouldn't be...
This looks like late 50s or early 60s mechanical fuel injection mounted to a Hemi dragster engine. The layman and even a lot of novices might not notice they now are electronic fuel injection units. All the wiring and injectors are hidden nicely beneath the finned valley cover. Now the fuel...
GEE WHIZ,DUDE!!! You must be a H.A.M.B.er (jalopyjournal.com) in your other life. I suppose my resetable ciruit breakers and grounded wiring system retrofitted in my 80 year old house is wrong because it ain't "traditional", huh. I guess only screw-in fuses and clothe-covered wiring will have...
I discovered this site displaying some very creative photography of some interesting compositions. I thought some of you would probably enjoy checking it out.

Trumpet in high school. A little guitar, fiddle, mandolin and just a smidge on about anything I can play by ear, but I play nothing real well. Practicing is unfortunately the last thing on my list with three yunguns runnin about.
Parade House/Titanic Theater
I was excited to see the Titanic theater. Here's the home that houses it. It's kinda special to me, because I'm the one who designed the plans for it. For the record, I created the space for that theater. Not the theater itself. It had an amazing feel to it. In...
I'm ignorant of the details in that performance, but it sure gets me all tingly inside and proud and grateful to be an american. I wish I had half the discipline these gentlemen must have. My utmost respect to them.
Frankly, I don't remember what search led me here. But I'm glad it happened. I've been on the HAMB( Jalopy Journal.com) for a couple of years, but this fills my need for "everything else" vintage.
Count me in. Love the jowl taste, but once a year is good enough for my arteries. Among other things, we had a little sour kraut on the side too. Larpin with the jowl!;)
Near by me, there's an old dealership that's now an antique mall. I think it was a chrysler dealer and probably built in the 40s or so. I love to walk through and see the old offices where the heart pine tongue and groove paneling still remains. Out in the old garages are the beautiful...
Medical technology and know how. If it weren't for the now run-of-mill c-section, I probably would have lost the very first of my three kids and maybe even my wife. The story would likely have been different in the "Golden Age".
Wearing my hats forces me to feel and act more confidently. I actually get quite a few compliments from strangers. I think most poeple enjoy seeing something out of the ordinary and worn with pride. Just don't be a dork.
