Tom, if you're just looking for Schott Perfecto, my strong suggestion to you is 118 size 40 (equivalent to a "43" SH). Still comfortable, but not a lot of room for error. 44 will definitely allow you to layer, but I think it's going to be too big for you. It's a pain with Schott. there's usually no front drop on the perfecto style from Schott. So maybe people are used to seeing 24-25ish with a 1 or 2 inch drop. My Thedi for instance has a monster drop, I think 3 inches.
