I can't imagine why anyone wants to wear a noose around their neck...
The are a necessary evil in dress wear, sure, but all the time? Makes me choke just thinking about it....
I've had this for a while... Got it off an old chum when his dad died... said it had belonged to his grandfather.. possibly from "The War"???
Pic Here
The only 'mark' on it is the number 4 in a circle on the bottom...
Any ideas? Any hints? Anyone care for a mint?
:-)
I wear mine at the restaurant table all the time...
Mind you I also like it when sometimes my wife holds a door open for me, or when some of the folks at my local greet me with a "Wazzup dawg!?!"
Cause I might appreciate the past, but I know I don't live in it...
"brilliant movies like Meet The Feebles and Bad Taste"
Those, and everything except LOTR were horrible... That's why I have no faith in Jacksons ability to pull this one off... his track record speaks for itself...
Absinthe... schnapps... Jagermeister....
Shudder... never found much use for any of the above... Jager is mostly for frat-boys in ball-caps who don't know better... schnapps seems to be consumed mostly by women around here... and Absinthe... the ones I've tried, I just didn't much like...
"The GOVERNMENT can DECIDE to BULLDOZE you(sic.) HOUSE..."
Ya... well... first ya did it to the natives, and now that they're all gone you'll do it to yerselves... no surprise there.... Some might even call it Karma
"The flag is a symbol. What it stands for can't be burned."
Hear! Hear!
I donno if I'd say it happened 'often' in Canada... But I know it does happen from time to time.. Disgruntled Natives have... Separatists French have... Anti-separatist English living in Quebec have burned Quebec's flag...
But as with many things in the Canada VS America differences...
"held and hold a wide range of views"
"not all veterans or patriots have the same opinions"
That addresses what is popularly known as the "No True Scotsman" logical fallacy.
"prevents the use of military troops against the citizens of the US"
What university was it again, that the...
"And what problem would they be?"
Well, and I'm must thinking out loud here, if one wants to change the 'establishment', those who support and are supported by the establishment are going to be the ones who fight hardest against you...
As I said above, at the root, to me the flag (Any...
"Burning a flag will alienate veterans, patriots, current servicemen and a host of other people."
I'm sure some would say that 'those' folks are perhaps part of the problem...
"In Sweden we have this ridiculous law which means neo-nazis have no freedom of speech at all ... they will be charged."
I see nothing ridiculous about that at all... I applaud Scandinavia for HAVING such a strong anti-nazi stance, and the stones to enforce it...
Thought I think there's a...
I find it much more disturbing that this country to the north of me is gonna outlaw flag burning, but continue to allow the guys in the white hoods to gather and burn crosses...
Where ARE your priorities?
As far as I'm concerend a flag is just a piece of fabric...
What more important are the ISSUES that lead people to WANT to burn a flag... Way bigger problems than toasting a ephemeral symbol will ever be in my book
