No pictures to show off, but I started Memorial Day in my Ultrafino Panama hat. When we fired up the grill for lunch, I switched over to my Akubra Balmoral. Akubra Overload
My Balmoral had so much stiffener in the crown that it didn't breathe at all. The weave allows airflow but the stiffener is like shellac. I've roughed up the crown quite a bit to break some of the stiffener up — at first, it looked like baby powder, so much came out — and it's gotten much, much...- William G.

The Balmoral has a LOT of stiffener on the crown, but not nearly as much in the brim. I steamed mine and made the crown dents deeper, I also worked the brim up in the back and it snaps now (the front will snap up and stay, for the most part, but a little pressure will pull it back down). Why is the back of a fedora brim pointed upwards?

The "SS United States" will maybe sail again?
There's a new federal law that allows titling of reproduction cars as a new car so long as the engine is emissions compliment. That should cut down on VIN swapping somewhat.- William G.
