I believe some stink was raised about commercials being run with the movie trailers. I'm pretty sure the way the theaters got around it was by showing the commercials before the actual scheduled start time of the film. Then they show the trailers immediately after.
It truly is annoying that...
Very sharp Rundquist!
That hat looks just like the one Kevin was wearing. Did you get the same color combination? I like the color combo of the skyline but crease of your Phantom Blue.
In addition to the Dove Grey Optimo that I bought for myself, I received a grey tweed "newsboy" cap from my gal. She said that there is a 1941 Zippo somewhere in transit. She paid extra to have in ship in time for Christmas but it has yet to arrive.:(
Hey thanks, you and me both!
I did get to try on the conformature. A very interesting contraption! From of the look of paper inprint, I either sustained some kind of blunt trauma to the front/right side of my head as a kid or I have an ancestor who was some kind of bean! I'm thinking kidney...
Sergei,
As I understand it, Graham's wife is an Aussie, so they were going to visit her family. I already have an Indy hat, so until I scratch my itch for some other types and colors, the Indy Brown will have to wait. I had better be careful though. The Optimo bug tends to bite people pretty...
I will NEVER reveal who Kevin was talking about! It was certainly not Chamorro, however. It just so happened that I saw his hat there while I was looking around.

Happy New Year everyone!
As a mentioned in another post, I was fortunate enough to pay Graham and Kevin @ Optimo Fine Hats a visit last week. On Dec 23rd, as part of my annual pilgrimage to Nothern Illinois to spend Christmas with my folks, I made a detour. Before driving approx 1 hour...
I was lucky enough to receive this DVD set for Christmas as well! Top notch stuff. I watched the first two discs back to back immediatly. I'm looking forward to the next set!
The skyline blue is a GREAT color! I just visited Optimo on the 23rd of Dec and Kevin was wearing his new one. Very sharp. I can see myself getting one in the future.
Hey! You are working on the wrong South American prop. You are supposed to be working on the Cross of Coronado not the Cursed Gold of Cortez! :rage: ;)
That piece looks terrific! I will be giving it serious consideration.

Michaelson,
I know that you like to take just a single yearly photo to post on the boards, but please consider taking a pic of that Merc when it arrives! Be sure to get a shot of it grinning with it's "mouth full o' teeth"!:D

Thanks for posting those pics fellas! It really makes me homesick. Now I'm REALLY looking forward to visiting my folks in Northern Illinois in a few weeks!!
Andykev,
Personally, I don't carry a knife with the intention of using it as a weapon. It is more of a tool to open cartons maybe as an emergency screwdriver. I really don't think I have it in me to intentionally hurt somebody with a knife.
Sorry to hear about your freind though. It looks...
I saw this bird in person yesterday and it looks even better then the pic. Also, it's 28 lbs. feel more like 50! MK certainly achieved the look, feel and now weight of a solid gold bird.

P.S. The big mob of gold fertility idols weren't too shabby either!
Hmmm, wow MK, couldn't you find a blurrier pic to post?
It looks like the first word under the dark oval is "Royal" but I can't make out any of the rest. Any of you vintage hat types know of any hat companys with royal in the name?

I've got a CRKT M16-02Z! It has the same tanto style blade that yours has Chamorro but without the serations. It is certainly a great knife and since I've owned it, it has replaced my Cold Steel clipmate as my everyday carry knife. I highly recommend these knives to anyone who is in the market...
Let's face it Chamorro,
In those days if you were not wealthy and white, you couldn't do much of anything! There were a lot of really great aspects of the Golden Era but unfortunately there were just as many things that were terrible. Bigotry and ignorance, the Nazi party, the geat depression...
Sam Spade refers to the Maltese Falcon as the "dingus" throughout the movie.
Oops, it looks like we answered @ the same time.
MK, I still think you should affix some glass "gems" to the one you get plaited. Like maybe the eyes.
