Applying Obenauf's Boot Preservative to a leather jacket

I really like Bekesha’s and has to be one of the coziest coats out there. The thing is I would love and hate to wear one of them. Love because it such an amazing coat but hate because it if I have to wear that coat...it must be too damn cold haha

That’s great that he was able to combine all these different jackets seamlessly into one. I can see how it could easily go wrong doing a Frankenstein kind of jacket and can look off. But he did great and you picked out some nice details for awesome jacket.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I very interested to see how Greg interprets the j24 and how his style will look on the classic jacket. The luftwaffe is a nice style, I do like the Hartman from Eastman. Will you be including the buckle that they usually include? It’s always the safe bet to go with a simple and clean design...

Out of curiosity, what makes this a Frankenstein jacket? I’m still fairly new to jackets and wonder what jackets did you combine to make this one?

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

No problem, I really like the jackets you come up with. This jacket is great and look forward to your next FL and other future projects. I think since you figured out what you want and how you want it to wear it definitely helps how the end product looks like. I must commend you on remembering...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

You know I loved how this jacket looked when Greg finished the jacket, but it looks even better worn. The fit was nailed perfectly and you wear it so well. I would eventually like to add a black leather jacket to my collection. Regarding the ball and chain zip, I think it complements it quite...

Footwear to go with our jackets

I heard about them! Oh man they are very tempting and I think they look better this time around. Although I am trying not to make any new boot/shoe purchases this year so I unfortunately have to sit this one out. I still have my Flame Panda’s coming later this year (ordered last year) and those...

Applying Obenauf's Boot Preservative to a leather jacket

The jacket looks much better and you’ve really brought the character out. To contribute to the discussion of RRL, I like the jackets you’ve posted from them and this one in particular. I personally would not buy from RRL, even though I do like their offering. I have tried to support small...

Very cool, and I agree I think does make it a cleaner jacket. Less busy overall. Look forward to seeing it!

That’s not too bad actually and congrats on the next one! Are you going straight repro or will you be adding/removing any details?

    Field Leathers

Oh that’s awesome, look forward to seeing it! What were the wait times like for each of your jackets? Planning for a 3rd one??

    Field Leathers

Yeah I believe last I heard it was already at the 3 year mark. It’s for sure worth it but the wait is getting long. I wonder at point makers decide to close their books due to a extremely long wait list. For me I put in my order and try think about it as little as I can

I personally I don’t think 6 months is all that bad and considering he’s a one man show. I have a pair of boots on order that I’m 1 year in of a 2 year wait time :) I’m glad he’s staying busy and decided increase his prices to scale his business. It’s the right thing to do especially if he...

RRP vs. price war for new or nearly new qualitative garments on the market

A lot of the discussion around new vs used I think depends on who you are and what you value. Of course when buying new you will inevitably have to take hit with depreciation most of the time (unless you get lucky). For certain things I prefer to have new and others I don’t mind/prefer to have...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

For an H&M jacket it’s not bad...only thing that bothers me is how the end of the right sleeve looks.

Vintage Outerwear: Threads of the Past

This sounds like such a good idea! I’m sure if you started a gofundme you could get some funding to get the project going. I’m sure a lot of us on here would contribute...at least I would :)

Just when you thought you had seen it all . . . (Warning: Not for the fainthearted)

From the front I thought it was a pretty good looking jacket. But then you get to the backside and expose all those side adjusters

    Johnson Leather Car Jacket Custom

Awesome write up and what a good looking jacket. The time that you put into this jacket really shows, it turned out great. Would love to see some fit pics. Also that liner is killer!

Footwear to go with our jackets

That’s pretty much what you would have to do, but I’ve seen people do that. I know a lot of go through Bakers, a distributor for Whites and some other brands. I inquired about once, essentially you supply the leather to Bakers who will send it Whites. No discount for supplying but an nice option...
