The state fairgrounds hosts Buchanan's vintage show & flea market once a month. It's a nice place to stroll around looking at cool old stuff. Also, Ingrid's Kitchen on NW 36th and Youngs has a live band Saturdays from noon to 2 pm. It's a festive social scene, with people of all ages (though...
I'm one. I have heard of a couple others here, but don't know how active they are. Tulsa has an art deco society; perhaps some of those people wander into the lounge from time to time.
Bummer about that pesky bosom.
I went to a couple art openings, and now sitting on a settee with cats and old books, eating a cupcake & drinking Cuba rum.
My fella's about to leave me for two weeks, heading across the sea to visit his family, so on a whim, we went to the Civic Center to see the philharmonic's "Cole Porter Songbook", complete with some Broadway warblers. It was de lovely, to say the least.
Olive, my husband's tartan is Stuart of Bute. He doesn't really consider himself a Scot, despite his father hailing from Kilmarnock. His mindset is you're one thing or the other, as opposed to 'half this, half that, half something else" that you often get in the US. His parents settled in...
Alrighty.
My husband in his postman days.
Being painted by a Russian artist in a frighteningly cluttered room.
The completed, quick painting, before I tactfully suggested the ears were somewhat far too big.
Two-piece silk and linen outfit (in need of pressing), and a Flying Tiger Line bag.
Made-in-Madrid coat.

If it were me, if I liked them very much other than the finish (what an odd shoe to make in metallic), the fit and price were perfect, and there was little chance of getting the ones I really wanted in the near future, I'd keep them and experiment with shoe polish.
These from Mod Cloth. I adore them & they fit like a glove.
These off ebay.
And these on very good sale as imperfect, from American Duchess. The ones I received were more ivory than stark white like the photo, but I still have plans to dye them eventually. In the meantime, though...
Yesterday I bypassed a lovely portable Royal typewriter for $25, and a made-in-Italy-for-JC Penney straw boater with hat box for $30, because I just wasn't in a spending mood. Today I was sorry I hadn't nabbed at least one of them. Fortunately a different antiques market offered a fresh...
But now that she's all grown up & the Mister has a spiffy new job on the horizen, I predict more travel in our future. Therefore, I'll happily lap up your recommendations, saving the overspill for next time.
Next weekend we're taking our newly-21 daughter to New York for a whirlwind few days. Since there are no event at Wit's End, I'm asking for any and all suggestions for vintage activities, speakeasies, secret treasures, shops, etc. The places in guide books don't really appeal, and I'd hate...
