I recntly took a gamble on a Christy's Fur Felt on eBay . . . Needless to say, it looked like it needed some work . . . That turns out to be a real understatement. It was really dirty . . . and it had shrunk a good two sizes. I figured my best bet was to clean it up as best I could... -

Help Identifying Great-Great-Great Grandfathers Hat
I wish I was lucky enough to have phtos of my great-great . . . I do have a few pics of my great form around the same time period as this, but alas, sans headwear :) -
When do you break the Panama hat out for the 1st time?
If you remember, we DID have a freak heat wave in February in Ohio a couple of years back . . . a week in the 70s, or thereabouts... But I still didn't break out the panamas. However, I think that panamas are fine anaytime after the vernal equinox, if the temp calls for them. -

Modern fur felt Bowlers
What a terrific looking Bowler/Derby! Never heard of Wegener before . . . but I'd say this is a keeper. And i know what you mjean about long oval blues on modern hats . . . I always get an 8th of a size large when purchasing modern, because my long oval head needs the room. -

I love all these nifty ribbons . . . But for my money, no one, but NO ONE, beats Art Fawcett for classy ribbons :) -

Six Months Ago! This is so, so sad . . . He has 5 years of back orders, but instead is producing hats for people who just paid six months ago? I guess he figures he can just start up again, and begin making money from folks who do not know his repuation, while pocketing the money from... -
