Minty Pipe...
Yes,my local tobacconist gave me a tin of pipe tobacco to try for him. I am sort of a VIP at my shop, this was new product and he wanted me to try it out. I was sad to say it was not good. I don;t want my cigars or pipes tasting like the mint I can have after.
Ok...
Well, I don't exactly have the history of Dobbs filed away in the old noggin, however, I think you and I own the same hat, well you know what I mean, the same style. I have one just like the one you have. It even has the former owners name written in the lining, "Bud". It's a nice little...
Oh Nice...
Oh very nice my friend, very nice. I myself am preparing to buy a wonderful vintage set of topper and tails from a local antique shop. Oh is it lovely, complete, topper, tails, pants, shoes, shirts, ties, and gloves. Oh and is it vintage, and I mean like 20's vintage, wowsa I can't...
Hmmm...
Well, here is the deal, the brand of the Bogie trench coat is a subject that has been pondered upon by Bogie fans for years. Perhaps we will never know! People have speculated that it was from Sears, or from come big time 5th Ave designer, this and that. The trench coat I recently found...
Um...
Well, I have learned not to give one-second of my thought to what people think of me. Cause often and 99% of the time their opinions are wrong and or ridiculous. I wear what I want when I want and in good taste. Often I am better dressed than most people I see on the streets. The world...
Wonderful...
I am a huge fan of a belted and yoked suit especially. There is just something about a belted and yoked suit from the 30's that's makes me drool. I am really on the look out for something like that from the 30's, it would make my year, lol. I find myself, lately, becomming more and...
Ah...
Yes indeed I did Holly, good stuff huh! I also saw an episode of the X-FILES recently that shot on the Queen Mary which was fun just to see the ship on film again. I loved The Aviator, the look especially.
You read my mind...
Before seeing the Aviator and especially after seeing it, I have wanted flight jacket like that. Know where I can my hands on one, or am I going to have to go the custom route?
Nice Pants...
That one detail I love about those era pants, how the fabric continues up above the belt loops, I love it. Once again I wish modern tailors would start making clothes proper.
Cheers...
Cheers goes out to you Matt, I find myself sometimes struggling with this sort of thing. Does that go with that, would this work with that. Always trying to get the best vintage looks out of all the things I have. I am happy that you are going to help people like me out, good stuff. I...
Good Stuff...
Well, I am a Homberg fan myself, but only own a couple as of late. I really like the style, it really is a vintage style, that you know is a Golden Era style. Even though, the poor excuse for hat makers, that make hats for the rap stars, yuck, still make Hombergs. Then again, I...
Hmmmm...
I have been told late 1960's which is what I thought. I dunno about any of you, even though I hate 60's and 70's wear, patches can look good on some blazers and I mean some!
Wowsa....
Well, Hello....If I were Ed Wood I would have to say "Is that Angora???" LOL, but I am not Ed Wood, what a fella huh! Anyhoo moving right along, I love the pic in front of one my personal favorite war birds.
Wow...
Thank you Fisk, man I don't know where I would be around here without you. It's good knowing there is another Conservative Crazed Fellow, like myself around. I love it, and I agree with you 100%!
Hmmm...
Well, I have not really had this problem with my hat rack. You may want to try larger or smaller pegs. You may also want to try and find some of these, check your local hardware store. These work really great and you can put them anywhere, along with you jackets.
