Just realized that I didn't post my hat from last Sunday. So here are the hats for today and last Sunday.
Today: Northwest Hats.
Last Sunday: Yeddo Boater
I wouldn’t call either one of those a flat brim. They are just not as curled as most. But they both do have some curl. I find the ribbon treatment to be interesting. Based on the auction hat with good pictures it looks to me like the original idea was to just leave the back end of the ribbons...
After 70 years there is a very good chance the brim shape has been changed. And the bow does not look frayed to me. It just looks like the fold has come loose.
A Lords hat wouldn't have the brim binding. It's a crossover style. Kinda between a Homburg and a western fedora. I just called Mike Miller (Northwest Hats) and we worked out the design.
Just arrived yesterday. I'm calling it a Western Homburg.
Beaver Felt - natural
3" brim with partial pencil curl and 1/2" binding
1 1/2' vintage grosgrain ribbon - color is "metal"
I realize it’s still winter here in North Texas. But, with temperatures in the 90s I’m breaking out the straw. This is a montecristi from The Northwest Hat Company.
