Ask a Question, Get An Answer About Outerwear

Question for Aero owners: what is your opinion on the warmth and durability of the wool-backed quilted lining? I'm in the process of getting a grizzly jacket made with them, and I'm trying to decide between the quilted lining and the herringbone tweed. I was initially just going to go with the...

Very nice! Reminds me of "Lupin the Third" for some reason

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Noble House “battle of Britain”, easily the warmest jacket I’ve ever owned. Almost too warm for the New York winter, even at night.

It's a really cool style. I wonder why it became so obscure as time went on.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Pardon the sweatpants, I’ve been working from home since last March. No way am I putting on jeans for that.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

The fit is spot-on, stops a little below the hip, good sleeve length, roomy enough for a sweater underneath, but not crazy big. I was actually apprehensive about the fit because I had done some reading on Peterman sizing after I ordered and a lot of people were saying that they ran excessively...

Got the Peterman grizzly today, pretty satisfied so far. Fits well, it’s warm, and it looks pretty cool. Nice flannel lining too. The leather could use some conditioner though.

Hopefully I can score an "urban sombrero" to tie the look together after I get the grizzly

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Ordered a J. Peterman "grizzly" style jacket today, they had a sale and with another coupon, I was able to get a pretty good deal. And as a diehard Seinfeld fan, the Peterman connection is more than a bit hilarious to me.

    Experience with “Noble House”

I have one of their "battle of britain" jackets and I'm satisfied with it. I know it's a lower quality jacket compared to an Aero/Eastman/etc, but for what I paid, it certainly does the trick. It looks quite nice and it seems solidly built so far. It's probably wildly historically inaccurate...

    Sheepskin and roominess for layering

I was pretty surprised by how damned hot the jacket was. I live in NYC and I was sweating a bit while taking a walk one night in 30-something degree weather with just a t-shirt underneath

Does Pecard's leather dressing affect the color of the leather it's being used on?

    Sheepskin and roominess for layering

I'd noticed that too, regarding the sleeves. Looks like it's time to put this jacket on daily duty and see what develops.

    Sheepskin and roominess for layering

Hi all, new member here. I've been enjoying reading threads here the past couple of days. I have a question pertaining to my Noble House "Battle of Britain" sheepskin Irvin-style jacket; the jacket fits me well, but the wool on the interior of the jacket is ridiculously thick, to the point where...
