Drat. Sale is over. How thin is insane? I like the blue. Are these like the Akubras and will shrink over time. Am a long oval as well, and usually get the 7 1/4 to shrink slightly. The newer Stetsons are large to me and wonder which size to get if I do eventually end up getting one.
Waiting on an "Always on Top" western hat. Anyone heard of the maker? Can't find it anywhere. Supposedly 100% beaver.

Hi, I have some nice 1950s hats that i would like to keep, but they are slightly small. I can get them on my head, I just have to pull hard and it's a little snug. They also sit higher than I'd like. Should i stretch with a hat stretcher or cut the leather sweatband? Which offers more stretch...
Have this Bushman in Moonstone that I received. Have been wearing it around in the house to break in the leather sweatband (let it shrink with my body heat). Have not shaped the brim yet. Wondering what is a good shape? I dont want ghost creases, so want to shape to whatever it's final crown...
Love your hats Silver! Great job on the ribbons. Wish I could do something like that. Are the wolf pins a business mascot? Awaiting a heritage SB as well, hopefully will come in today.
I must confess that I do have some CD Heritage hats on the way. The last ones in Moonstone and Cedar Brown. The SB is on the way, in flight as we speak. I do like the BG, it looks to me like Olive Drab, but I'm color-blind lol (red/blue). We'll see, don't want to overdo it.
Thanks so much for weighing them. I do like my hats at 130-140 g if able. Guess I have been used to those. Have some Stetson Playboys and Champ Featherweights that are super light. I can wear the heavier hats, just takes a little getting used to. Not sure how much the silk liner weighs, may...
I guess it depends upon what the thickness of the cardboard is. What is the thickness of the boxes you used? Mine are 32 ECT, which are durable enough for shipping, yet the boxes are smaller than lots of the vintage boxes, certainly smaller than the modern ones. There's no crushing these with...
Does anyone know the weights of the hats? Received a Moonstone Bushman, and it is 188 grams, which I think is like 6.6 ounces. Anyone take off the liner to see if it is lighter? Have not bashed it yet, like it open crown so far. Want to try a CD next, anyone know if it is lighter or same weight...
Started with 48, then my collection blossomed. I should probably stop buying hats now lol. It's much easier to buy than to try to sell. Especially at the same price to make up the cost.
FWIW, I bought a bunch of plain cardboard boxes, 12 x 12 x 6 and have put my hats in, upside down/crown down. I cushioned the bottom with the many bubble wraps that I have saved (the nice ones!), enclosed the crown in a small clear plastic bag, leaving the inside open to air. Then covered...
Thanks got it, it's a wonderful hat. Thank you so much for makingbit available. The whippet looks likes great hat too. Debating whether to go for that one, or see what comes up...Either way, will cross paths again im sure!
