Until they tweak things, have you tried going down to the bottom left corner and toggling from the 'blackend' back to the 'default' style?
Its light backround with darker text and is quite easy for me to read on my iphone, so worth a try.

Rather then starting a conversation in each room about it....
And on the other side of the coin, people need to perhaps think past what 'they' believe and perhaps think about how they might be offensive to others.
That's not PC'ism. It's common courtesy and part of that is not always just writing how others might feel off as 'too touchy'

as a 'general term for american' it's probably no more or no less offensive then some who live in the UK would find being called 'limey' all the time...as if it were their official designation. ;)
While I don't find it personally offensive, I also do not -identify- with the term, since to most Americans it is a more specific term then the broader usage of the term in the UK.
Since I know they do not -mean- it that way in the UK (in general), unless it was a close friend, I did not...

I watched part of this the other day on PBS, and the NYT did an article on it..
Very very interesting and he appears to be single handedly saving quite a lot of stuff that would otherwise be lost.
Like with all things....its a matter of knowing when you are capable of fixing it yourself (with parts or with creation of parts yourself) and when its in the long run actually going to cost you more time, money and effort, to do so.
