Things you want but cannot justify buying...

On the matter of eyes I rock contact lenses though am thinking of investing in a pair of specs for first thing in the morning. On the issue of teeth I lost a front incisor a few years ago and ended up with a small glue in denture which is a complete mare to live with. Am currently most of the...

Things you want but cannot justify buying...

I’ve tried the lotions and potions approach in the past and it didn’t work at any level I could notice or that anyone ever commented on…was pricey though. Was in Turkey recently and saw loads of young men wandering the streets of Istanbul with evidence of recent hair transplant surgery. Happy...

    Eastman Star size help!

If it’s not right for you it’s not right. I sold an ELC A-2 last month because the fit wasn’t what I wanted even though it was probably within the acceptable range. Charles at HPA has done the decent thing by measuring the ELC A-2’s he vends & putting the measurements on the HPA site..it’s a...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

My new C-3 vest from ELC, using it as a gilet / waistcoat. Had to size down from my usual 48 to a 44 long to get the desired fit. 24” chest & 23.5 back, I’m 5.10’. Had a 46 Reg a few years back but moved it on as too loose over only a T shirt, designed more around going over the likes of an A-2..

    Five Star Leather Jackets

Looks fine as is and an inch shortening won’t be a problem for a competent leather tailor. Had one done recently, an inch funnily enough which then hit my length sweet spot.

London Outerwear meetup 8th of December - Epilogue

Quite likely, can’t make the London meet because I’m down there next weekend for a couple of beers. Two weekends on the trot might not go down well at home. Devon for a day shouldn’t be a problem

London Outerwear meetup 8th of December - Epilogue

Just spoke to Eastmans & they are more than happy to accommodate an FL visit. Said they will need a weeks notice to ensure staffing.

London Outerwear meetup 8th of December - Epilogue

I did mention a potential FL visit to ELC when I spoke to them recently, would of course need to give them adequate notice and agree a date. Speaking to Rob again this week so I’ll ask how it would work best.
