C, do you roll the wand on the upper side of the lashes or the lower? If I did that on the lower side of my upper lashes with my eyes closed, I would have mascara all over my cheekbones, unless I pushed things up a lot!
Lolly, cute! I'm surprised you didn't do rolls or something for your DL photo, I would have done something over the top for the heck of it. I hate my DL pic, it's so boring and I look angry! My Sam's Club card actually looks like me, and is funny. I had lost three cards in a year, and the girl...
FWG, I thought I would love the Carbon Black but it clumped badly on me. I don't understand why MAC mascaras are so inferior to the rest of their products, it makes no sense, but I agree with you.
Miss Sofia, a few weeks ago I started wearing Maybelline Volume Express One by One... I love it! I have long, pretty thick lashes and everything clumped on me. I tried the One by One because it was not supposed to clump, and it sure lives up to it's name!
Added bonus: it smells like rose...
Kishtu, I had forgotten about all-in-ones... I haven't seen one of those in ages! I can't remember what they were called here in the States, something stupid probably. I remember having one in the eighth grade!
If we are shopping for blouses, may I suggest a Van Heusen outlet store? I have...
Juliet- Pretty much, yes. There is a layer every inch or so. It's almost identical to the last diagram, they way my stylist cuts it. She sections out the crown and starts there, does the back and then the sides last.
My pleasure! I still think c-dot has the best one as far as explanation for how the layers should be, even if you don't DIY. I asked my stylist if she wanted any more reference, planning to show it to her, but she knew I was coming in and I think did her own homework!
Women are snarkier and cattier than men. I think they are also threatened more easily. But they need to ask themselves why they feel threatened by someone who is dressed differently, and not expect the rest of us to dumb it down for them.
Thanks, SheBear! Has the humidity around here been killing your curls? It sure has mine!
Zombi, sponge rollers were all I used for the first two years. I'm glad I held onto them!
On to diagrams...
I posted these in the "Show Us" thread but I wanted them to be found here as well. Inky...
Ok, here is one. Inky (dunno where she's been, I miss her) has the Femme Fatale diagram in her Flickr, it's a better scan than I have. I'm going to try to find the other one, and I will post here and the Middy thread so everyone can find them.
Femme Fatale Middy link...
Juliet, I used the diagram for the femme fatale cut, about 6" layers with the front a tad longer (just past my lips). My stylist is really great, she understood the diagram when I explained it. Basically, she sectioned my hair, held it out parallel to the floor (except the top, she did that...
Thanks, ladies! I guess I'm just a bit out of my comfort zone with it this short. I do like it today, and I'm looking forward to trying new styles until it grows out :)
Ok, here we go! New middy that is challenging me. I think I need to go with bigger rollers. No pomade, hairspray, pins or other accoutrements, this is just my hair!
