    Aero linings

Troy blanket is a really nice lining.

    Jacket you “should” like?

Same - the Maxwell, Stockman or Work Coat were better styles for me, too.

How long does it take Aero to produce a jacket? Confirmation process is taking a very long time

My Aeros have taken 2, sometimes 3 months. That's not too long. I'd rather it take a while and be done correctly. This is similar to a post in Nov 2023. Aeros have always taken about 2-3 months as long as I've been a customer (which is 15 years). Rarely, they're quicker.

Aero CXL FQHH vs vicenza vs Jerky HH

CXL FQHH is heaviest (stiffness changes over time), Vicenza is lighter and more pliable immediately (and gets more so) and Jerky is a similar weight to Vicenza, but definitely the softest and most pliable. The finish wears off on Jerky more quickly than any other leather I've seen, leaving a...

I am trying to get a jacket custom re-created - does this style of collar have a name?

This is a really nice design. Which leather is it? Mooreiche and the Ranger dark brown have caught my eye; I might go for 1.2mm if pliable and I am trying to avoid the pebbling of goat (although SB does an awesome matte black goathide). I might add button cuffs and the seam across the chest...

I am trying to get a jacket custom re-created - does this style of collar have a name?

Yes, I think this would work. 29 inches would be ideal , if it can be done. Blattwerk is really pliable, but thick (my SBV2 is very dense), so I am going to ask Debs about options. I'll avoid goat if possible as I want it to be relatively un-pebbled.

I am trying to get a jacket custom re-created - does this style of collar have a name?

Yeah, the Montana would be the easiest conversion and just get it to 28 inches at back with no chest pockets.

I am trying to get a jacket custom re-created - does this style of collar have a name?

It is, almost, but the collar is a lot slimmer and sharper.

I am trying to get a jacket custom re-created - does this style of collar have a name?

I bought an Aero used that wasn't one of their usual patterns and, as it was a bit too tight in the arms, sold it to a good buddy a few years ago. The jacket itself was double-breasted, and had a collar that looked like this - note the gaps between the upper and lower parts of the lapels: I...

How many of you guys ordered from the Aero sale?

Even for 'Rest of World' prices, that is high. Those are some increases.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Aero CR in battered seal. I wanted to get one in battered tan (size 44, this one's a 42), but it's been discontinued. I took some photos of the CR to show how fantastically walloped it's been - worn in crazy weathers, Shanghai (acid) rained on, typhooned, monsooned, through a cold wash cycle...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I want to get either a HB with nickel Universals or a Bermondsey SB in Mooreiche Blattwerk. I want to, but I don't need to. I want to, though.

is there such a thing as applying too much conditioner and making your leather too soft?

Lightly condition new Aeros, SBs, Vansons, Thedis, etc. once a year (maximum) things like Pecard, Renapur or Obenauf's for casual wear. I wore an Aero in torrential rain, wind, etc., for several hours each day over several days and no harm came to it. I've owned a Highwayman for 15 (or a bit...

US Caste System and Leather Jackets

Yeah, on jeans it doesn't matter to me, either. It seems to on leather, though - even William Lennon started stamping the tongues on their footwear and I wished they hadn't. I unstitched the Carhartt outer label from my Detroit and have even cut a small outer label off a good pair of shoes...

US Caste System and Leather Jackets

I second the aversion to anything with a name stamped into it. I'd not order some Schotts for that reason. A label - if tiny - might be ok... but probably not.

Fit check on Aero CXFQHH Cafe Racer

    Yes, I have a size 40 Highwayman and it's great - I could size down to a 38 comfortably. The best-fitting Aero I've had is a size 42 Maxwell.

Fit check on Aero CXFQHH Cafe Racer

Cafe Racer fits are not fun - I lost 5kg and now just about fit my 42 CR in steer. Another 42 I've had for years became slightly easier to wear after a year or two. The 44 CR I bought (to get one that fit better) is a little too big. The sleeves on yours are too short and the hem is too...

US Caste System and Leather Jackets

Some of the conceptual jackets could come with a flashy ankle bracelet. I can't see it reaching the mainstream.

US Caste System and Leather Jackets

Cultural meanings assigned to clothing are interesting. Hoodies were originally 50s dock worker wear and now they're ubiquitous. Somehow, gym wear can be worn outside of gyms and Carhartt has become a high-tiered brand. Leather seems to have gone through minor permutations before its...
