True. I have a beige in the demotex. Its a nice jacket but at $1K insane price. I have not felt the jungle cloth on the cheaper version but soon will. I have a blue in the mail.
Yes of course. Sorry to barge in on your thread. However I was really surprised to see that listed for such a price. It is North of 600 pounds on the BR website.
Good luck with the sale. Too bad it doesn't fit you well. Great looking jacket.
NorthSea Submariner in Black. Compared to my size 36 from OKW similar in sizing but the finishing on the ribbed material is much nicer with this one. Black color was a unique find so I went ahead with the purchase.
I am pretty sure mine are from the Vietnam era or 70's. Would you have expected those to have a throat latch as well ? The wool is still a beautiful Kernsey wool.
I used to shop at Kaufmans when I was 13 years old. Young guy with glasses very friendly owned the place. He must be an old man by now :)
Thanks for the lowdown.
Beautiful Coat.
I have never seen an authentic with that type of collar closure. I own maybe 5 peacoats.
The Sterling I own is my least favorite. It fits like a tailored blazer and at only 28 ounces it barely stops the windchill. Perfect for Southern California but I wouldn't bring it back...
Thanks. YES I agree about OKW. I am wearing one today actually.
The N Sea Expedition and Brig2 are very unique designs though. I have a black submariner on order from them. They describe it as chunky so lets see. The shawl collar cardigan would be fantastic but I need it to be rather thick to...
My lowest quality hats have been the most durable and easy to wear.....just saying :) If I were to do it all over again I would own a total of maybe 5 hats.
1 Panama
1 black 1 brown straw
1 black 1 brown short brim Homburg
What is the consensus on the NorthSea jumpers these days.....worth the price of admission or not ? Are they very tHICK sweaters ? I cannot tell by the photos.
It depends where and how you wear it. Personally I would stick with olive green and dress it up with some slim fit jeans and an oxford dress shirt/ V neck sweater. When you get into camo patterns it gets tricky to glam it up unless you are an eccentric running around NYC in camo and combat boots.
My issue would be the quality of leather used. I have been told by my leather makers in Mexico that the leather from China is "real" but man made from scraps of assorted leather.
I have yet to see a hide on a Chinese jacket that resembles anything you get in South America or Europe .
Schott 641 Steerhide/Horshide
I prefer the HH skin much better but really like the zip out liner of the Steerhide. For those with the removable liner how important is it to you at this point after owning it for awhile ? I don't know why the HH liner isn't removable. Too Bad.
The T-Shirt I have been reaching for the most this year oddly enough is my Jockey Slim Fit both crew and V neck. The material is far from hefty but it hugs the body very nicely and the stretch feature makes it very easy to take off when you are sweaty.
They are pricey for what they are...
I agree I like the Leather.com Indie jacket very much. Unfortunately "Bobby" @ Leather.com doesn't know what a pit to pit measurement is nor do they give you shoulder measurements. I sent two pictures with a tape measure going across a jacket to show how measure and so far no response.
Word of caution on the Pike Brothers Ts. I wound up dumping mine. The boat neck or whatever it is called is ridiculous. It looked very weird on me with chest hair fluffing out of the neck.
