U.S. tariffs from Japan - still happening?

I just had some Dr Sole half soles sent over, and I was hit with a 100% tariff as well as $45 shipping... this stuff makes international purchasing not worth it :(

And not that its Japan, but I also just got a 30% tariff on a knife I purchased a year ago from Canada, which they're just now getting into production, odd times...

But then we'd lose all these jobs brought back to the USA from the tarrifs, right ? ;)

I do wonder where all this tariff money has gone. I've never received any back, personally.

Didn’t they say it was all going into a slush fund that the **** can use as he pleases?

No, it appears they are being reimbursed to so called "importers of record". That said, the path for consumers like you and I to get refunds is murky and dependent on the carriers that brokered the fees. I'm not holding my breath.

I asked myself, If the supreme court struck this all down, why are tariffs still being assessed? I guess it's because Trump pivoted to other legal pathways. The whole idea seems misguided and just bad policy.
