FS: Schott Suede Western Shirt / Jacket, Gray, Sz. 40

⛏ PRICE ⛏
€200
shipped to EU. IBAN or PP/FF.

⛏ INFO ⛏
Schott's suede Western shirt from their Rancher line. 1970's manufacture, I believe.

Industrial grade blue(ish) gray suede - This shirt is as heavy as anything they do so even though it's styled like a classic western shirt, I don't suppose Schott ever intended it to be worn as such, exactly. It's deadass a jacket. Fully lined. Two chest pockets. Snap-on closure (those super strong snaps!).

Once again & just in case; Don't expect to wear this thing under a jacket or have it tucked in.

⛏ CONDITION ⛏
The shirt had seen substantial use though none of it shifted outside of a visual domain. All wear had manifested only as creases, discoloration & patina in the suede. I have thoroughly & carefully cleaned it myself, brushed & conditioned it with an aerosol leather lotion.
Not a single fault anywhere on it, inside or out. Leather is totally healthy, soft & pliable.

Note that this old, rough suede isn't nearly as uniform and pristine as what they're using today so there are quite a few natural blemishes on the jacket which are common to mostly all utilitarian suede clothes of the time.

In short...

Structurally: Great, flawless
Visually: Good
Olfactorily: Great

⛏ SIZE ⛏
Size 40. Slim, athletic cut with slight taper around the waist and the measurements, taken to the best of my abilities, are...
  • Chest width (P2P): 56 cm / 22 inches
  • Waist width (measured across lowest button): 50 cm / 19.5 inches
  • Shoulders width (back): 48 cm / 18.5inches
  • Sleeve length (outside curve): cca. 64 cm / 25 inches
  • Back length (without collar): 71 cm / 28 inches

⛏ MISC ⛏
S
hipping from the European Union. I'm more than happy to help with any questions you may have. Thanks!

I have this exact same jacket in a 42”! Ivan is right. It’s no shirt. It’s a shirt styled jacket. I found the sleeves on mine to be a bit short so I made some custom cuffs and two toned it. It’s one of my absolute favs and I’d ****** this up in an instant if I didn’t already have it.

Thank you very much, Ton! It's all that. Yours is in a finer condition and appears much more blue which it actually is supposed to be. One I got is gray with a hint of blue, even on the facing panels.

Either way, brilliant piece!

Oh, and I'm thinking that brown leather would work great on the collar, too.
