    Military 'woolly pully' sweaters

This thread is a bit quiet. I hope you are all enjoying WP season, which I am happy to say is still going strong here.

There still are fishermen’s sweaters known as Ganseys. I had one as a teenager. However I always preferred Guernseys: my first of those was when I was seven and I have worn them ever since. I was born in the mid-60s.

Indeed. I have worn my Le Tric Navy several times over the past week, turn back cuffs and all! You made a good choice.

I think you’re right. My Guernsey Woollens jumpers are quite old. I also prefer the Le Tric design, partly because of the longer turn-back cuffs; I have a bit of a turn-back cuffs fetish I think! May I ask you what colour you chose?

Interesting. As I mentioned I have both Le Tric and Guernsey Woollens versions of the Guernsey and I have not found any differences of quality between them over the years. What decision did you make about your purchase?

I have Guernseys supplied by both firms and can find no appreciable difference between them. Le Tric are an older firm, their fit is perhaps a bit tighter and their turn-back cuffs are longer.

I have one in that colour but haven’t dug it out this season - I must do so. My go-to WP has been Navy lately.

I still think you are much safer with the S!

The Small does look a more comfortable fit; it also allows for a bit of growth over the festive season! I vote for the S

I am happy to say that we are very much into WP season this side of the Pond. I have worn a WP every day this week.

Hi John The Brigadier was always my favourite character in the 1970s Dr Who series (when I was a schoolboy). Funnily enough it was the time I first started wearing WPs and I have been doing so ever since. I'm pleased to hear that it is Fall in PA. Over here it is indeed WP weather and I am...
