Ironheart N1 Deck Sizing

Frantically looking for the right N1 and pretty set on Ironheart. The issue is I'm lost on sizing. I've heard that they're close to true to size if a little small, to way off on TTS.

I wear a US XL for everything. Would the XL work for my frame? 6'1" 225lbs athletic.

My shoulder is about 19.5"
P2P is about 24.25"

Only ones I can find are XL (2 avail on ebay) and a singular **XL.

Side note: Pike brothers looks promising but I'm apprehensive on fit/ silhouette.

I have an **L IH N1 (the alpaca wool lined one) and that measures around 24" across the chest. I'm a 44" regular and it fits me just about right, can still fit a jumper under it.

Would think an XL would be a little small? The measurements on the IH website are usually pretty good.

I'm a 46 chest and usually wear a US XL, and my IH deck jacket is a 2XL. You might find a 2XL a little snug, or a 3XL would be nice although long in the arms. Most of the IH sizing is always smaller than US versions so you just have to go by the dimensions they post on the product pages. That seems to be the most reliable method for finding something that fits from them. I can take anything from a 2XL to a 4XL in their gear, it seems to be all over the place.

Not sure how helpful this is, but I'm 6'2" at 167lbs (with a 39" chest), and I normally wear a medium in most tops - I went with a large in the IH N1, and it fits great. I can wear a base layer with it, but likely not a base + mid layer - I only wear this jacket down to about 25°F - I did 23°F the other morning, and it was right at too cold for this jacket. That's when I go for the Dehen N1.

That does help, sounds like the consensus is up from normal size, so 2XL for me. The exact size I can't find anywhere on the internet.. (Hence my desperation for XL to work)

@Johnnieblack I was looking today, and did find some 2 and 3 xl's over at Iron Shop Provisions - won't add a link, since I don't know if that's allowed here, but they do have both Iron Heart and Dehen N1's in those sizes.

I think the 2 XLs on Iron Shop are only for the lightweight version, unfortunately. The 3 X is what I had my eye on but I think it'll be too big for me.

I live in Maine so looking primarily for heavy version only. Would love to splurge on Ironheart but Pike Bros is both more affordable and available

SM Warehouse, Buzz Rickson and Heatstraps would be well suited to that sort of cold.

Pike gets great reviews, but the pool noodle arms would be a deal breaker for me

I started with a Buzz Rickson, and found it way too cold for Maine (I also am in Maine). The Dehen was my go to last winter, where the IH was good for this time of year, and later in spring. I run cold during the winter as I don't have a lot of muscle or fat.

I currently depend on a Wool flannel with synth fleece lining lol I run warm but need to upgrade up here. I'm about 225lbs about 17-20% body fat

Chiming in with my 2 cents. I'm 6'1", ~185 lbs, usually wear jackets in size 42-44, currently own two N-1 jackets: an Iron Heart XL and a Freewheelers 44.

The IH XL feels just right for my size, offers some room for layering without being too big. You'll probably want a 2XL or maybe even 3XL. The arms aren't lined with wool so it's easier to wear but not as warm as I'd hoped it would be.

The Freewheelers feels a lot denser and somewhat heftier, its wool makes the IH wool feel kinda cheap and thin in comparison (price diff was around $100 when I bought both a few years ago). But the fit and thick lining make the FW feel tight to me even for a size 44 so it probably wouldn't work for you.

It might be worth checking out other jackets like a B-6 or B-3. I have a second-hand Freewheelers S-6 jacket which is warmer than the N-1 and roomier too (size 44, fits more like the IH XL though the arms are thicker/stiffer). But this cost me a pretty penny to import back then, and it'd probably be even worse now given the current shipping prices and tariffs.
