Hello, so I’d like to see your opinion about timberland classic 6 inch boots, would you wear them, since mainly here are discussed the heritage brands,do you have them in high regard?

I used to wear them a lot Back in the day. Craftsmanship is not great these days. Soles are merely glued not stitched, and the standard leathers are split pigskin.

There are some seasonal runs with nicer leather though, and for the price you can still wear them if you like the look. Ankle support is pretty meh, so long hikes can be a challenge, but they are comfortable enough.

I know the quality isnt anything great but I kinda like their styling, and that somewhat rugged look, I mainly wear British boots but I can’t find a last that totally fit my foot and sometimes they feel uncomfortable and also a pair of redwings, but I wanted to try some timberlands too

I like the styling of their Field Trekker sneakers, just for walking around in. They are comfortable, but I don't assume them to be the best-made products. I got them on sale for about $50 so I can't complain.

I agree that from a style standpoint, they are attractive, but I doubt the mainline sneakers and boots are as durable as the more expensive "Pro" workboots or some other higher-end brands.

I remember when they were practically a uniform for a lot of men, and later women, especially in certain circles in the UK and the US, but I don't see them worn very often anymore. The quality of the leather and the construction isn't great and you can find much better boots for the money, but I imagine anyone thinking about buying a pair these days is doing it for that iconic look, and wouldn't buy something else similar to scratch that itch.

I had a pair of 6 inch Timberland work boots for a few years. Used only for yard work and chores around the house. Must have been sometime around 2008, maybe 2010. I don't remember exactly. It's been a while. (They looked a lot like the current Timberland model "Direct Attach 6 inch" boots.) Anyway, these Timberland boots were not that old when the right sole suddenly broke in half! The heel just broke, fractured! How does that happen? Must've been lousy materials, lousy construction, right?

After that, I never got another Timberland pair. So Timberland is a FAIL, in my experience. I cannot recommend them.

I got a Wolverine pair for yardwork chores, which are still going strong. Probably more than 15 years old. And I have a few others for normal use: Jim Green, Brunt, Thorogood - these are only a few years old, but the quality seems much better than Timberland.

While I have never owned any Timberlands, I did have a long-running pair of Ecco's that were this "modern" construction glued on sole assembly. You can read my full report on them here:

Bottom line, you can get good life out of something like these, and my Ecco's were excellent for snow & ice use. They were not really work boots, but that was not their purpose for me either.

Wearing them for their looks is totally fine as long as you have realistic expactations in terms of durability and value for money.

I am afraid you will have trouble fiding quality made boots that feel just as comfy. that´s the upside of that sneaker like feeling due to any lack of footbed, ankle-support or structured last to be speak. of.
If you haven´tr tried them, the RW MocToe comes close. The leathers are still way more sturdy than Timberland of course.
