"An' this Mike O'Donnell, Oi imagine he's verrrry --ah --- thorough?" "Very," emphasizes Solly. "Ah," trembles Uncle Frank....

I love it. We know there are going to be many things missing, not just dehydrated potatoes.

"...as they make their way along Midwood Street toward the Patio Theatre."

Bink, in particular, does not need to see "Of Human B*ndage" as she could take it as a strategy for herself. Also, how old is she? If walking to the theater makes her short of breath, she really should think about getting into something resembling decent shape for her age.

Oooh, a flashback! Start the rippling visuals...

And just exactly what are these two going to look like as young women? Same hairstyle?

The Peduzzi-Greening story is quite charming. And I bet there's more to this diary return
than just the diary....;)

Hazel Forbes, toothpaste heiress and former Follies girl, really fits the Hollywood golddigger
casting type with her diamond studded lipstick and compact case.

All of which leads the Bishop estate matter, though routine filing is sparse on detail.
Mrs Bishop and her daughter Beatrice contest a $500,000 transfer from Cortland Bishop's
estate, citing her daughter's 1934 disinheritance. However, the core issue is her lack of consent
regarding building funds withdrawn estate coffers prior to said severance. Beatrice consequently enjoys valid standing.

Charlie needs a flat basis so he can clean and dry his weapon and ammo/mags. This will take thirty-forty minutes but must be done before all else; including helping Nasty, whom seems to
have been food poisoned. :(

"Zehr gut, zehr gut," nods Mr. Ginsburg. "Mr. Krause is a good listener. And Leonoreh is soomone who is wanting to be listened to." "Hm," hms Sally...

He's such a good man. He's trying so hard to teach her how to fish, but not tell her how to as he knows or intuits telling Sally what to do is not the way to get her to do it.

Separately, I kid myself that I'm picking up an ear for Yiddish: does "zehr gut" mean "that's good?"

Jeezuz...

It is a scary world. The 21-year-old-former virgin was very lucky.

Separately, and I'm sure our resident legal expert Harp will weigh in, but I'm glad the judge did what he did with the alimony in the adulteress-wife case.

The Anchulis divorce alimony grant towards marital equity should be an enduring landmark
judgement, but unfortunately its not; and, truth-be-told, men have little, if indeed any standing
in divorce law today.

The 52-20 Club article caught my eye. After the Army, I went home for the summer before
college that fall, and next morning went down to the kitchen for coffee. Still wearing my class
A uniform pants with Corcoran jump boots and white tee shirt. My Depression-child mom sat
at the kitchen table and asked if I had a job.

Charles may have to hoof it out of Dodge.

A virulent Nor'easter and Polo packin it out in the Pacific near Baja scratched the hosses
at Belmont and Santa Anita; so ****** flush September slips past paddock. Breeders Cup nears
and my bankroll is decidedly light. :(

("I'll come downstaiehs wit'cha," sighs Sally, checking the mailbox and finding little of interest. "Ya pooeh husban' mus' be bouncin' awffta woodwoik by now." "Ehh," chuckles Alice. "Siddy's good wit' kids." They descend the stairs to the basement apartment, and walk in to find Willie sprawled on the floor with Butch the Dog, as the latest episode of "Superman" blares from the radio. "Inna kitchen," he signals, just as a strident voice begins to spiel for Kellogg's Pep. "Leonoreh!" Sally calls. "Le's go, I got school t'nite!" Receiving no reply, Sally and Alice step into the kitchen, to find Leonora and Krause locked in tight concentration over a chess board. Lenora reaches for a bishop, as Krause stares intently at the pieces, a bead of sweat glistening on his forehead. "Hey," interrupts Sally. "Whassawlis?" "Shhhhhhhh!" hisses Leonora. "'Two moeh moves an' I got 'im...")

("Sawry," shrugs the gaunt, watery-eyed proprietor of the Flatbush Pharmacy, blinking at his inquisitor from behind bottle-thick spectacles. "Ice cream din' come in. T' ol' lady din' get any, did she?" "If she did," exhales Bink Scanlan, "y't'ink I'd be innis jernt?" With an annoyed sigh, Bink turns toward the door, and nearly trips over the tall iron scale next to a pyramid of toothpaste cartons. "YOUR WATE AND FATE" blares the bold embossed lettering on the scale. Bink chews at her lower lip, fishes for a penny, steps atop the wobbling platform, and sends the coin thunking home. Immediately, a chunking sound announces the discharge of a small, smudged card. "On'y one," reads Bink, "on t' scale at a time!'" She tears the card into small pieces and drops it bitterly on the floor. She turns to see the pharmacist stifling a chuckle. "I AIN'T NIET'EH!" she bellows, banging the door closed behind her....)

Emily Abernathy's killer, Robert Engle is guilty of premeditated deliberate murder; although
his confession attempted to lay psychological angst defense. Such ruse gives further
evidence of depraved heart deliberate intent.

Charlie apparently had no GI Zippo cigarette lighter handy to signal Terry. His Thompson
can fire a burst even drenched so long as its bolt is pulled and barrel drained first.
Nasty ingested a blood borne pathogen which might have induced cerebral paralysis.

Belmont closed and canceled its card due the Nor'easter slamming the east coast;
however Santa Anita remains open despite Polo's southerly approach. Some of the bet handle
will shift left, no doubt. The Goodwood Stakes features Baffert's Nevada Beach. Also three
others: Original Sin; Forged Steel; and Caldera. Nevada Beach comes off a layoff after slackening
the Saudi Cup. A proverbial wild card exponentially factored seven months rest.
Dunno. Stare decisis more probably since I scratched Saint Anita with Belmont yesterday.
I'll fold today and wait until next week. Oct 3rd and some scattered dates until Halloween.
