Here is a better photo of what they look like. In person they look even better with a depth of patina that has to be seen to be believed. They look like beautiful vintage shoes with great character and they are probably the nicest shoes l have ever seen.

Here is another amazing pair below. Silvano Lattanzi norvegese double monks. The hatch grain leather on these is really thick. Really great sturdy high quality shoes.

Here are very casual Norwegian shoes in French Style which represent one of my favourite models. The contrast stitches are not fresh any more but I still like these shoes. I am also inclined to call them 'Boho shoes' because the decoration is pretty bold overall. Brand name: Harris

A treat is an understatement! That shoe is gorgeous.

An aside; I am inspired to up my sock game to socks with panache, vs. my black or dark brown socks.

A treat is an understatement! That shoe is gorgeous.

The shoe is a double sole yet it feels like s sneaker to wear. Just amazing.

One thing that makes this shoe unique from other shoes is how it is made inside. Instead of using cork, it uses a layer of high quality soft calfskin under the insole. It acts like a shock absorber and is far better and comfortable than cork. It also keeps your feet feeling fresher during the hot days. Once you go without cork there is no going back. Sure, blake-rapid and blake construction also avoid cork, but it is nothing like how this shoe is built, they don't use the soft calfskin as a shock absorber.

You really don't want cork because it molds to the shape of your feet. It sounds good, but sometimes that molding to the foot can rub the sides of your toes as the foot expands during the day. Insoles with unstable fillings like cork often develop lumps and bumps. The way the shoe above is made costs a lot more to do it this way (no cork) , but it is far superior imo.

Having beautiful socks is one of the great pleasures in life. I used to have 100 pairs of the same navy socks, then the sock bug bit me and I never looked back. I am a fully blown `sock guy' now.

I needed something to wear with jeans besides tennis shoes. Went ahead and bought the brown pair also, but the black is my favorite.
