Thought Id do home-made this morning. This one was my first scratch-built hat a few years back. Just a bit too heavy for mid day heat these days but its fine for the morning coffee run. Cant wait for cooler temps and jacket weather so I can pull out some of the heavier hats

Just back from a work trip away with my Wentworth Hat Company Townsman (the natural, this time; I also have the blue) and a cap in the bag. Cap got worn the middle day of the trip, with my case not having enough room for a brimmed hat. Captured here on Sunday evening:

Very much enjoying these Wentworth straws to the point I'm very tempted by the furfelt version. I already have felts in the silver-grey and brown they offer, but the brown especially is nonetheless very tempting; has, to my eye, that late 40s, sport-shape to it that would pair very well with a short jacket. Interested to see what comes next from this line. Their own version of the Akubra Federation would be interesting to see, especially as the new label must be easier for the Hattery to sell internationally in recent times.

The other day this Borsalino. Deep Chocolate Brown. Great proportions at 6" x 2 7/8" almost perfect dimensions for me..I was able to do a very deep center crease...STILL just under 5" as creased. Very thin and well... floppy felt, that is until I just re-blocked and re-flanged. Now it behaves nicely.....;)

Offset bow ( I really like these)

Worked my Akubra Adventurer into the rotation today. Works fairly well with a henley shirt, and naturally pairs with my Wested Leather jacket.

I did some adjustments to the hat last night, working on the front bash and shaping the brim a bit more so it didn't look like a box sitting on top of my head.

If I have one complaint about this particular hat, it's that I have to intentionally wear clothes that work with it, I can't just grab it and go like I can with my Snowy River.

I think it looks really good on youl.
Just wear it and soon it will be second nature, you will miss it when you are not wearing it.

As to what it goes with... it can go with what ever you choose!!!
Here are a few photos of Loungers from the past wearing an Adventurer.

1950s Steton I picked up over the summer. Been too hot to wear it in GA until today but I'm very excited about it, loving the fit. Apologies for the not great pictures. I'm new to the hat forum and I need to learn how to capture hats better, like the rest of you gents!

Welcome! Cool hat! The pictures are nice. In my opinion, if you want to show off your hat to its best advantage, turn about 30° away from the camera on the bow side, tilt your head slightly down, and take the shot from slightly above the hat so the crown and bow are both visible.

I am in NC, and we are getting very close to being able to wear felt hats in th real world here also. I can't wait lol.

Thanks! I'll try your tips next time. I also always forget why my posts will show one pic and attach the others. I know I solved that problem before, but can't recall the solution. Dig that Disney of yours, too!
