My bottomless desire for humdrum canvas work jackets continues unabated.

I never understood the Stronghold/Primark thing, you would think it would completely devalue the brands $600 jackets to have similar looking ones selling for £30 with their name and branding on.

I've bought a couple though and they are pretty solid jackets for the cheap price if you get the sizing right.

And here's the unfortunate result in terms of fit. What do you know, it's a true to size 38, rather unusual for JP brands I guess. Beautiful jacket, but definitely too big for me and will be going to the classifieds.

I don't really understand the collab. Perhaps customers of The actual Stronghold won't be looking in Primark, so it won't dilute their mainline sales.

Yes, I figured it was something like the European Schott deal but as you say, its not like your average shopper would know the brand anyway. Curious.

I did, this weekend. It is being returned and remade as there are a few sizing issues. If turned out beautifully but it is for a smaller person.

The hide is thick and quite stiff. A surprise indeed for a sheepskin jacket.

Satoshi paid for the return shipping and wanted to use the jacket to work off of for the remake. It was delivered too small in the sleeve and shoulder diameter/width. Otherwise that would’ve been a good option!

In the meantime I picked up another suede trucker:

and this East West knock off in a hard to come by 44”.

- not teacore
- no chest pocket
- not too shiny
- no thick/warm lining
- not vintage
- no zip cuffs
- not too thick

And I was all ready to go custom but this one just popped up and it checks all the boxes.
