I got the M-65 from Bronson, really really impressed with it. The material is very heavy duty and nice.
However the epaulettes are a tad too much for my taste. I will likely keep the jacket but remove them somehow. Any recommendations on how to do that?

After very long time searching I am finally found Leather version of M-65. This made by Japanese division AVIREX. Exact copies from original field Jacket, just without collar zipper and hoodie. Leather close to calf hide, smooth and lite, like a original cotton in weight. Some light brown base colour makes it very close to original M-65 sand tone. One piece back. Very well made, not like a **** Pakistan copy. This first and only one exact copy M-65 in leather which I found. XL in Japanese fit like a roomy US 44.

Incoming I have a similar Abercrombie and Fitch repro field jacket, although it has button front, pocket flaps, and button cuffs. Call it "Inspired" by an M-43 repro vice zippered/velcroed/snapped M-65 repro. XL Long and price was decent.

My unique sizing requirements often force me to compromise on some non-essential features, unless I buy bespoke. The garments with the occasional compromise on features generally cost a whale of a lot less than more perfect bespoke garments. Quality of materials and workmanship often varies amongst the non-bespoke items, but in many instances is surprisingly high.

I also have a leather M-65 (similar to Avirex above) jacket from long ago and unknown Mfr. Cowhide. I had to replace the cheesy zipper with a decent 2-way "8 metal zipper, and re-****** most of the velcro closure tabs to the correct size/locations.

Hello everyone. Allow me to introduce myself, as I would like to contribute to this excellent post regarding the various shades of the color OG107 that arise through use and across different manufacturers.
