Another stunning duo, Eric. That blue is breathtaking!Good morning. My dog soirée was enjoyed under the brim of a Stetson Premier Stratoliner. The Cadet Blue felt hue is stunning.

Cheers, Eric -
QUITE stunning, Alan!I am fond of straw boaters and have quite a few. This Dobbs (early 1920s, I think) is a favorite. The weave is fine and yields a softness to the hat overall. The brim has an unusual rolled edge which is stylish but also serves to maintain its flat profile. The wide brown ribbon and interior lining are beautifully finished. The condition is remarkable for a century old straw hat - even the gray rolled sweatband is soft and flexible. I don't wear it outside often, but I think about it a lot. ;^) I hope you enjoy seeing it.

Another stunner, Steve!Rockel possibly 1950s. The paper label has the older Rockel format and look but without the company identifier (R. & Co. A.). Rockel is not on the Sweatband and only F. W. Deuster Herborn. I could only find 1950s and older reference to F. W. Deuster Herborn. The Felt Finish is very similar (also the Form and Components) to a Rockel "Flamand" Manfred found back in 2013. I found this Soft Felt back in 2017.

"Echter Rockel Hut" Rockel Alsfeld, Kraemer & Van Elsberg, G.M.B.H. Köln possibly early 1930s. It has an patented enamel coating and a unique folding stand. Kraemer & Van Elsberg, G.M.B.H. Köln were known for such enamel counter displays. I found this counter display back in 2017.

This display card is covered with Simili(Simulated)-Enamel. D.R. Patent. Often cleaning with a soft, damp cloth gives the placard its original appearance. Kraemer & van Elsberg, G.rn.b.H., Cologne.

A similar "Echter Rockel Hut" display card is hanging (under the Rockel & Co. sign) in the Rockel Hat 1930s trade show display.
Mark, Thanks!Another stunner, Steve!

The cooler morning temps found me opening a hat box and donning a Mallory homburg and enjoying morning coffee. The inky blue and maroon trimming is sharp. I catch myself looking at my reflection to admire the hues.

I trimmed a couple of bushes in a Gannon Wanderer (blue with charcoal trimming). The work had me sweating in the leather sweat. I dryed, opened the sweat and placed it on a block to dry. I will treat the leather this evening before returning it to it's box.

I cut the lawn wearing a hat acquired at the hardware store over a decade ago. I recall my father wearing a straw with green visor at our cabin well over 50 years ago. The green visor in direct sun is disconcerting to my eyes. Indirect it is effective in its shade and does improve my visual acuity. During the yard work the local hawks scolded me that they were on the hunt and I was disturbing them.

Today I did overtly think of a hat theme for my morning adventures. It amounted to a bunch of different styles.

Cheers to all, Eric -
Yep, that style goes back to at least the 1930's. I have a posted catalog around here somewhere and they look exactly the same.I cut the lawn wearing a hat acquired at the hardware store over a decade ago. The Stetson Twenty Texan
Ooh Stefan, yes please. Did you know that when originally sold, the "Twenty" name literally denoted its $20 USD price point?
A bespoke Gamble & Gu-nn's did the honours for church this morning, that and a request from Tina to wear said hat. It goes so well with the trousers that she had previously made for me.

Cheers to all, Eric -
Thank you. It’s what some of us might call a 30 foot hat. The great looks start to come apart upon close inspection. There’s a hole big enough to poke your finger through at the pinch and there are numerous cracks along the perimeter of the crown. The sweat has degraded and there’s not a lot of resemblance to the original blocking and flange. The faded, sweat stained ribbon is obvious but still a favorite feature. And I have no complaints. It was my go to summer hat for a long time. I love the looks of a fine Monticristi but one would have tapped out long ago if worn the same as I have this Cuenca. What's wrong with it? Looks great from here!
Tremendous lineup Eric!Good morning hat wearing folks.
