Earlier than usual as I'm leaving for a few days to Porto early tomorrow. The hats of the week with some new ones and a special thanks to @Daniele Tanto who provided them. Pictures of them will be posted later.

SO far so good... Since I already had a thin shellac mixed up and the hat was clean, it went quick. Sprayed on a light even coating inside and out, and after an hour of drying its already much better. ( prob should have waited a bit longer but my curiosity got the better of me lol) Not what Id call stiff at all but it hold shape much better. Still feels a hair damp so Im going to let it dry on a curved brim board till totally dry. If its not quite to my liking by the end of the day, Ill spray another light coat and let it sit still overnight. The brim wonkiness appears to be under control.

Last time I used shellac on a hat, I had mixed it up as a 3-1 mix of Everclear to shellac flakes. I used it on an old wool hat and it was way too stiff. Had to dissolve the shellac out and start over. I went back with a thinner 5:1 everclear to flake mix... worked much better. This mix is what Im working with today. ( I figure its better to add another coat later than trying to remove too much). Applying with a pump spray bottle ( too easy to get too much mix applied by brush). Will need to steam and tweak the bash creases a bit, but Im going to let it fully dry first.

Though the calendar says June and it's officially summer, we're still waiting for it to arrive in Denmark.
Just 14 days in, it's the wettest month of the year so far.

Ah, well, every cloud has a silver lining. The low temperature and, for once this month, no rain meant I could take my Hornskov Diamond out for a spin.

Hopefully, I might be able to break out some straws soon. The weather looks like it's going to be more summer like later in the coming week.
Great googly moogly!!!! What an absolute stunner, Steve!!!

Today inbetween rain showers I took the opportunity to have a walk over to a nearby lake. As I was not chaperoned by my better half I had the freedom to give this brown Borsalino some fresh air.

I’m also wearing a green waxed jacket, so when I met a neighbour they described my attire as an English country gentleman out to inspect their land - I suppose it is an improvement on the usual ’howdy’ from the kids.

Thank you gentlemen. It is wonderful to be home and to be back in the land of four-wheelers. I was out for ten weeks, which is at least four weeks longer than is healthy without a break.

First hat on my head was this wonderful Dobbs fifteen.

Man, I just wanted to say that aside from admiring your impeccable taste in hats and clothing I am in awe of your ability to stay so healthy working full time out there on the road. I've read that it's tremendously difficult to eat well and exercise in your occupation (which I have some knowledge of as a touring musician) and yet you seem to stay fit as a fiddle. Well done, sir!

Good to see you, Nathan. Hope your health is holding up to the rigours of being back at work.
Thank you for the kind words, Gary. It's nice to be back in TFL for a few days anyway. And my health has been good for the most part, thankfully. I am glad to be strong enough for this very challenging work!

So pristine! What an absolute BEAUTY, Nathan!!
Thanks Mark!

Very generous remarks indeed, thank you.

You are right - staying fit while driving a tractor trailer requires an extra commitment. Except flatbeds, which is what I'm running now. Flatbeds (as I have learned) are actually pretty hard work. I will definitely be getting my exercise this summer!
