And the website -- https://skyringwater.com/index.html --. A big thanks to everyone for creating an environment where I could feel at home in times past!

Starting a history of the pre-streamlining Twentieth Century Limited and companion modeler's guide. Unsure if it'll be a book, a web article or a series of articles chopped up across the New York Central System Historical Society's magazines Central Headlight and NYC Modeler.
Long time no see amigo. :)

Having been paid published, it's comforting to receive the proverbial mailed check and complimentary copies.

Yeah, I dunno why I popped back in after certain double-standards on subjects which I shall only discuss by PM. Book royalties would be nice... but this is kind of my swan song as a railroader, intended as a thank-you to the people who are helping me plan and build a model of the 1927 Century to mark what would've been my grandmother's 100th birthday next year.

Yeah, I dunno why I popped back in after the flagrant favoritism and disfavor of certain subjects which I shall only discuss by PM. Book royalties would be nice... but this is kind of my swan song as a railroader, intended as a thank-you to the people who are helping me plan and build a model of the 1927 Century to mark what would've been my grandmother's 100th birthday next year.

The problem with telling the story of the Century is, the farther back into the past you go the less remaining records there are of equipment used. I've even had to turn to such grim options as Interstate Commerce Commission accident reports - a frightening percentage of NYC's pre-WWII passenger accidents involve this "train of the stars." Perhaps because of the intense pressure on the engineers to keep On The Advertised - this assignment was only for NYC's top enginemen, who could become minor celebrities themselves in the day and even get their own endorsements like Bob Butterfield being featured in the ads when Lionel rolled out its model of the NYC Hudson.
