Just bought this RRL Belt (Made in Italy) – Should I be worried? (In-transit)

Hi guys,

I just pulled the trigger on this RRL (Double RL) leather belt from a second-hand seller. It’s currently in the mail, but looking at the listing photos again, I’m starting to have some second thoughts about its authenticity.

Based on the seller's photos:

  • The Stamp: The "DOUBLE RL MADE IN ITALY" branding on the inside looks a bit shallow/faint. Does anyone own an Italian-made RRL belt with similar stamping?
  • Hardware: The buckle and rivets look very simple. I know RRL does "rugged," but I’m hoping this isn't a low-quality rep.
  • Overall Vibe: The leather has raw edges and a specific grain. For those of you who own a lot of Double RL – does this look like their typical vegetable-tanned leather?
I’m planning to do a full inspection once it arrives (weight, smell, etc.), but I’d love to hear your thoughts based on these photos. Is this a known model or did I just buy a "fugazi"?

Thanks for the help!

Looks like a well made belt to me and authenticity where RRL is concerned seems an esoteric concept in that I generally don't consider authentic RRL branded product to be RRL product. Much of what they sell is a buy out. Nice belt. Wear it and enjoy it.

There are several sellers of fake belts with the ‘made in Italy’ embossed on them. I don’t recognize this style belt, and it’s a little too difficult to tell from the photos to be 100%, but leaning towards fake unfortunately. Just a guess though

I gave up buying Belstaff jackets online because the better fakes as near impossible to tell from genuine items in photos.

Unless you know the item, leather and have it in hand and can feel and see if the quality then its not going to be easy for anyone to tell on this, unless this model is a popular fake.

The leather looks good quality and thick in the photos though in my experience the quality of RRL varies a lot from piece to piece on all their items anyway.

Yes, I also didn't recognize the style but I found another one, exactly like that one (also sold as RRL) - take a look:

similiar to this model https://www.ralphlauren.com/men-accessories-belts/tumbled-leather-belt/437710.html but the one I've bought doesn;t have the logo on the buckle
