Aero lead time, how long is too long?!

This is mainly but not exclusively for EU Loungers...

Has anyone experienced particular delay on a recent custom order?

I've put an order in December last year...
No completion yet, and no news at all until last month

I get the Christmas Festivities thing...but still

My last custom order in 2022 took the whole of 7 weeks from order to delivery, was I extremely lucky then, or is this near 5 months wait a little too much?

Frustratingly, I ended up ordering via Bolt Motorcycle in London instead of directly to Galashiels just to get help measuring the jacket instead of trekking it to Scotland like I did last time (slack I know!)

That means I don't get direct updates into my own Aero online account, and I'm having to rely on Andrew at Bolt to get news (or not!)

Absolutely no fault to him as he's a great guy and been super helpful and very knowledgeable, but it's an extra passage all the same and of course we're all busy!

I even emailed Kerry to see if I could get an insight but I was told that they cannot give information on an order placed through third party, and I can see the point although at the end of the day Bolt is a recognised official stockist so I guess some degree or responsibility would ultimately falling on Aero in terms of updates, but ok

In any case that email must've rattled some cage somewhere as the next thing was a text from Bolt saying that they had word that my jacket was in "current production run"

That was 4 weeks ago so hopefully shouldn't be too long now

Just wonderiing how anyone else's ordering experience has panned out in the last year or so?

Interesting, I also got an Order in through third Party but was hoping to get it soon even though I only ordered 10 weeks ago. I heard from somebody in the forum who got his order recently after 10 weeks of wait. But there may be some differences in wait time due to material shortages or maybe they don’t produce every order chronologically to optimise production.

10 weeks seems optimistic
I'm on week 19! Even taking out 3 weeks of Christmas still 16 weeks...
But hey if you do get it soon, good on you!

Ask Danny. I think he can help you.
Danny is the one who's declared it "in production run" to Andrew
To be fair I am not all that keen in contacting Aero again on this particular order after the last response...

Oh well, let’s see. I don't have any information yet and will not get any until it arrived. But yeah, knowing now that you wait for 19 weeks already tells me I should lower my anticipation a bit :D

Aero is right that they cannot be expected to disclose info on a third party order. For all they know, you could be anybody but the ultimate recepient of the order.

I would lean on Bolt to get a detailed update. It´s not like Aero produces gigantic numbers of jackets. It must be possible to get the status.
I would assume that Bolt cannot be bothered to enquire about a specific order of theirs. Also, in fairness, a 5 months wait to date is nothing that I find out of the ordinary.

It's all good, in an extraordinarily timely fashion, Both Bolt and Aero got in touch today and the jacket is on its way to the London store and I'll be right behind it!!....

To anyone vaguely interested in how this particular story ends:

jacket collected today

Over the moon is an understatement

I will post photos and review/fit check in the next few days

All I can say for now is that it was absolutely worth every minute of the wait

Great jacket and color choice - Cordovan is my favorite Aero color choice. I've got a Aero LHB in CXL Steer that I've had for about 10 years that conveys attention to detail in every character laden panel. I have no doubt your new acquisition will become more desirable with each wearing.

Thanks @Mickiemac
Cordovan is one of my favourite too, I'd be wanting one for ages and break the "Black or Brown routine" but couldn't decide on the style...
Hopefully it'll develop well!

That looks great! A perfect fit as well. Well worth the wait. Enjoy the break-in!
