Yes, I was answering to the Iphone issue. That has been resolved in the meantime. There seemes to be a site-based issue with uploading photos for some 3, 4 days now.
I have been having issues loading anything on and off with my iPhone in the Safari browser. It just says “ran into problems” for extended periods. Sounds like you guys are on top of it already.

5 attempts to start a thread and reloaded every time. TFL you’re pretty much dead to me. Thanks for the good times. You picked my pocket but it was always fun.

I have been frequently getting this error message: “Oops! We ran into some problems. An error occurred while the page was being generated. Please try again later.” I searched Google and got the response below. I cleared my website history and data and it seemed to correct the problem.

From Google: This error often means the website is struggling to load, typically due to corrupted cache, Safari extensions, or network issues on your iPhone. It is likely a temporary issue with Fedora Lounge or a site incompatibility with Safari, rather than a failure of your phone itself. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Top Fixes to Try:

  • Clear Safari Data: Go to Settings > Apps > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
  • Disable Private Relay: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Private Relay, and toggle it off, then reload the page.
  • Use Another Browser: Install and try using Google Chrome from the App Store.
  • Restart/Update: Restart your iPhone or check for iOS updates in Settings > General > Software Update. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Other Potential Causes:

  • Ad-blockers/Extensions: If you use safari extensions, turn them off to see if the error persists.
  • Site Traffic: The forum may be experiencing high traffic, causing the server to struggle with page generation. [1, 2]

Those recommendations are useless. Just a default set of instructions that may work on some issues yet they get thrown for anything. I would not even call it AI slop, as these predate AI.

At this point, I think this is clearly a server side issue, as mentioned before. My personal opinion/theory is that if we look at the active users, right now as I'm writing this, there's 32 loungers online and 9,285 guests. Those guests are likely mostly bots scraping the site for one reason or another. It is not an actual DDoS but it kinda results in it, too many bots are likely clogging it for us real users.

I also think that is the issue. I still see the problem on Chrome when I switch to a Incognito Window.

If it's related to bots, I have seen other sites implement some anti bot measures to mitigate them.

I used to be able to view member's post history. (Useful when a member and I are the same size and I want to know what he's selling).

But now I get "You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action."

Is this by error or by design?
