Where do you like your sleeve to end? Wrist? An inch below? Your first thumb knuckles?

I like just a hair, maybe 1/2” past the wrist. Shorter and i feel like i’m trying to force a small jacket to fit. The first thing that comes to mind when i see someone with sleeves to the thumb knuckle is a kid wearing dads coat. It seems an amazingly difficult thing to land just right.

This post from a long time ago was brought to my attention by a “like”. My opinion has changed. Nothing past the wrist break for me. Rather a hair short than a hair long.

I like the ‘look’ of hitting right at the wrist when standing. But I prefer the ‘feel’ and comfort of an inch below that. These days I prioritise the latter.

I prefer jacket sleeves to be about half way between my thumb and wrist, just hitting the top half of my hand. Better to be a touch long than too short IMO.

For me, it's better to have a slightly longer sleeve than a shorter one.

I prefer it the other way around.
If a sleeve is too long not a lot can be done and it will always look as if you’re wearing your Dad’s jacket or a big brother’s cast off.
However, if the sleeve is just a little short it’s not quite as obvious but it also can be made less so by having the cuff of whatever is being worn underneath, such as a jumper, sweatshirt or shirt, showing below the jacket cuff.
Obviously it will largely depend on the style of jacket but my ideal length of sleeve is either on or just below the wrist. Any longer or nearer to the thumb joint and I think it can make the whole jacket appear too large.
