That’s one hell of a brim though, would be ideal once the sun really starts to beat down in a month or so. But I think the campdraft will do the job just as well.

Depending on your style & body type, a concentric cut brim @ 3” can be ideal. I often like 3.125” in a vintage BE brim.

My new old stock( from Besdor) Borsalino Bellagio, all the way from Brooklyn after an extended stay at HM Customs. 2015 vintage, a snug 63cm or 7-3/4 US.

This is my new (made for me) Fedora, fur felt, made by Keel-Stocker a very small producer here in the UK, Crown is 5 1/2 inches in front, 6 at sides, brim is just over 2 1/2 inches. Hatband is 2 1/2 inches. Rabbit felt feels soft and malleable.

Full disclosure: this was yesterday at a Home Goods store around here. My hat is a Borsalino Alessandra. My new friend has a beautiful velvety crusher. Great hat conversation with this wonderful gentleman and his wife. He even demonstrated how well it folded and restored. Should this also be posted in the “How many fedoras did you see today” thread?

It's been a bit since I posted but I've still been wearing my hats. I was out and about this morning in my No. 1 Quality. I love all the hats you've all been posting.

I like the crown in that one. There’s a simplicity to an unpinched crown that I’m beginning to appreciate.

Brim width is a funny thing. Since I’ve been mainly wearing classic fedora, around 2 to 2.9 inches has been my go to, it’s what I’m used to. But then busy hats and cowboy hats seem much too wide to me but undoubtedly have better sun protection, which is actually one of the reasons I went for the campdraft, as a sort of compromise.

Wearing the CD for a few days now, it’s funny how quickly our perspective can change as we get used to a new look.

Thanks Jeff. It’s an early 1990’s Worth-Walden 15X. I really like the style of the Brigadier & this was a 3x6. So it was perfect.

Another week of nearly impossible decision-making!! I finally decided on the Barbisio Fa ggio as #1, the Sools as #2, and the Mossant as #3. Thanks for another Sunday of glorious headwear, Stefan!
