Dermotta Wien, date stamped December, 1955. Great felt, form, components and workmanship. Really like the color combinations. Sold by the well respected Hut Brömme Nürnberg around the time of their 75th Anniversary. I found this Homburg Hat back in 2011.

Today calls for my favorite green "Seattle" hat. A Sovereign Stetson Chatham in Sage from the old Byrnie Utz store. ( I used to walk past that store every day for 10 yrs... from the age of the hat it was probably inside the store as I walked past.). When this lid showed up on the ebay, I just had to have it

Terrific looking hat, Rick, and great history! I just love when those cosmic coincidences occur. I've bought a couple of hats just because their sweats were imprinted with stores I shopped in forty or fifty years ago.

A beautiful sunny day... time to get this c.1910 Hawes Von Gal out for a spring freshening up. This is the only soft hat from this maker that I've come across - it is among the rarest hats in my collection. Hawes Von Gal marketed their $3 hat heavily in their prime during the late 19th and early 20th century. By 1914 the price had risen to $3.50. They were gone not long after.

Ludwig Skriwanek Graz, Hutfabrikation, possibly early to mid 1930s. I do not have any information on the production capabilities of Ludwig Skriwanek Graz Hutfabrikation so possibly sourced. This Stiff Felt is a Mélange with a shorter cropped Rauh / Rough finish. Great Form and tight well executed Brim work. Really classy Liner design highlighted by the company Crest. It has an intact Braided Wind Cord and is in overall excellent condition. It's difficult to find Mélange Stiff Felts especially in 57 cm and above. This is one of my favorite Stiff Felts.

You can get a closeup look at the mélange Felt with a shorter cropped Rauh / Rough finish at the bottom edge of the Sweatband (see below).

English translation of Skriwanek - Hüte catalog (possibly 1920s). I was made aware of this catalog back in back in 2023.

The entire catalog and English Translation is too long to post here so you can view at my website. I think it's definitely worth taking a look at.

Currently I am working in my home office with my new Sage Green Stetson Hemp Stratoliner on. Trying to get the brim to snap where I want it to. I'll steam it and shape it to my noggin later today or tomorrow.

From my experience with Hemp Open Roads and Stratoliners, Steam and a Steam Iron ( with press cloth) are your friends... Good luck
