P. & C. Habig Wien "Grand Prix Paris", 110 grams, possibly late 1890s - 1900. The Felt is very light weight with a great smooth finish. The black liner with gold color embossing is striking. The textured sweatband is also very light weight with the "Patent Ventilator" holes. There was a newspaper (from September 4, 1903) spacer behind the rear of the sweatband. P. & C. Habig Wien won the "Grand Prix" at the Paris 1900 World Exposition, but it's possible this model was made for the Paris 1900 World Exposition. This might be my best Stiff Felt find. I found it back in 2021.

The Bow is barely visible because of the extreme Brim Flange plus Curl. Also a close up of the Wind Cord..

The "Patent Ventilator" holes are at the front the Sweatband.

Newspaper Spacer, Berliner Börsen-Zeitung, Friday, the 4th. September 1903. According to the seller this Stiff Felt belonged to a banker from Greiz, (just south of Graz where the Stiff Felt was sold by Carl Singewald "Men's Hats & Caps").so that explains the use of the Berliner Börsen-Zeitung Financial Newspaper as a spacer.

P. & C. Habig Wien - Berlin Catalog, possibly mid 1890s to early 1900s. I found this catalog back in 2015.

This Stiff Felt is very similar to No. 16 (see below). Also the same P. & C. Habig Wien Crest with "Patent Ventilator" in the upper left corner,

Great googly-moogly!! What an absolutely STUNNING hat, Steve! It's nearly incomprehensible to me that what you are showing us is somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 years old! And, as always, an amazing hat accompanied by an amazing amount of history!

Mark, Thank you! The Liner photos were weak so I posted a better photo below. Your Stevens "The Imperial" is very sharp looking! I really like that Form so I am going to wear one today.

G’day all, new member here I figured I’d share what I’ve got on today. Stetson 4x Carson from what I believe is the 90s, of course it looks nothing like it originally did. I bought it “new” from a locally owned western wear store last year. They had trimmed the brim down to 3 inches vs the original 3 3/4 I believe. And they kinda just had it and I presume used it as a shaping practice hat because no one would buy a 7 5/8s hat. Payed 69.99 “new” and for a part beaver hat, couldn’t pass it up for a work and camping. Have since done away with the cattleman and added a unique “Sage Skyline” crease (gave it a new name myself because I have not found the original name or who made it popular) originally popular in the 1920s with the Huge 7+ inch crown hats of the time. Have many more unique creases and hats if anyone is interested in far out 20s style creases.
Later photo is the original Carson hat. IMG_6760.jpeg

Nothing beats a rolled newspaper for size adjustment! All old hat should have them. ;^)

You know me, Stefan. Usually, I'd go with the Manchester hats, but that Barbisio looks quite special.
Thanks, Steve. it's not because it's green is it?;)

Just fantastic, Stefan
Thank you, Jeff. Much appreciated.
Meanwhile, on Hoth…

Weather Hats custom charcoal, in the weather.
Wide brim, open crown: spectacular!

Morning dog-walk hat today was my early-to-mid-50s Stetson 3X Mode Edge.
