Mr Bear always checks and approves my lids out when I step out for morning pics..... on a couple of occasions, hes actually helped pick out the hat of the day when I cant decide lol. Many a morning Ill get to the coffee shop and realize I have Labrador slobber somewhere on the hat.

Always good to have a second opinion! Our Bertie can get a but funny when I pick out hat in the morning, though, if he realises it means I'm gonig out without him. I'll have to see if getting him involved in the choice of hat helps that! I'm still hopeful I can get him to bring my slippers when I sit down at night if he realises they mean I'm in for the duration. The wife has a pair of flipflops she throws on to go round the corner to the shop in warmer weather. Bertie's taken to stealing those from the hallway and hiding them in a corner when she goes out without him. They've become symbolic of all her shoes for him now, like some kind of ***** voodoo charm to keep the pack together, ha...

For all I like a homburg with black tie, there's just something kinda... rakish... in the best possible way about a black fedora instead. Clark Gable did it - and I'm pretty sure I recall Sinatra doing it too.

Morning dog walk today took place under what I believe to be a late 40s to early 50s Lock & Co. melusine. Not quite Tom-Baker-as-Dr. Who dimensions, but substantial. 3" brim, 4.5" crown, with a 1.75" ribbon.

That's a cracking looking hat. The finish works perfectly with the shirt, too. I don't think Lock do these currently, but judging from their website, you'd be looking close to eight hundred notes *UK* for one if they did do it now!

I really like the sunglasses in this first shot. The whitewalls round the lenses give them a very distinctive look, really draws the eye.

O.F. Hess - K. Misík, Husinec, Czechoslovakia, possibly early to mid 1930s. Not branded but made by O.F. Hess K. Misík, Husinec, Czechoslovakia. This is a very interesting Wool Mélange + Rauh Finish Soft Felt that was part of my 2015 NOS Czech find.

After the series of fur hats worn in the previous months, I'm changing the rotation and moving on to hats for the transitional seasons.
Wagener grigio 2.jpg

This and the others we'll see are part of a group that have been in the works for some time.

They arrived a few months ago and are now ready for their journey.

Wegener size 59 cm, lightweight, lined. The felt is light weight, quite malleable.
Gray with a blue undertone, with a low, matching band and brims hemmed in the same color.

I'm very happy to have them on hand after such a long time, and we're starting the meteorological spring with them in the first week of March, gray and humid in this part of Italy.

Have a nice day everyone, and congratulations on your hats.
