Rockafella backlength

I don't want to bother aero anymore, being so nitpicky. So I'm asking you guys here. I'm customizing an aero Rockafella and we settled on a 26 inch backlength instead of 27 inch for the 44 while I'm 190cm/6 foot 3 inches. Attached you'll find a jacket with a 25,6 inch backlength. Is this how the Rockafella is supposed to sit, because I'm worrying it maybe should be shorter.

The rockafella is a slightly longer style. Here's what it looks like on me. I'm 5'11" and the jacket measures just short of 26".

I'm not sure your jacket is much help for visualizing the back length since the Rockafella has shoulder pads.

You are comparing a trucker to a halfbelt?

If you want a trucker length jacket, you should order a trucker. Like Aero's type III Jean jacket.
No i like the rockafella design, was just wondering about/comparing the backlength.

I think that you already answered your own question: the Rockafella, as the style is intended, the back should fall longer than the "fit jacket" you used used for illustrative purposes. But since this is a custom order, if your preference is shorter, just spec it shorter.

If the modifications present a real problem with the pattern, Aero will tell you that and I would heed that kind of warning. In my experience they do a great job of being clear when giving advice: the will help to match personal preference on fit/appearance, and also if an ask puts you in a danger zone, when ideas/requests present a real issue in making the jacket. It sounds like you've already started this dialogue, but still want to go shorter than Aero is trying to steer you...maybe just clarify with them if it presents a pattern problem that will lead to other issues due to the scaling.

Personally, I think a bit of length looks great on a complicated style like this as it shows off the lines and rich detailing. Take that with a grain of salt though as my two favorite Aero jackets are both long half belts.

Eventually they suggested 25.5 inch or 26 inch and I went with 26 and now I'm second guessing myself. But I probably should stop worrying as 26 inches seems to be the intended look.

I understand where your coming from but cant attest that chasing perfect in this hobby is a recipe for disappointment.
It's the same way with tattoos, you'll be disappointed if your chasing perfection. But it's the first time I'm paying this much for a piece of clothing, so it's hard to shake the "I want this to be perfect" feeling.

My size 38 Rocka had a 25.5” back and I’m 6’0. Yours at 26” will look good.

I like shorter jackets as well, but this is a style (hourglass shape) that you can’t go too short on.

When it comes to measurements of less than an inch with Aero Leather jackets there’s little point in overthinking it or losing sleep.
As you’ll see from the following, which can be found in the FAQ’s on their website, Aero have to work to half inch tolerances:

‘While our cutters and machinists are experts in their trades and craft your jackets with a very high level of skill and precision, the nature of what we do and the materials we work with means that working to pinpoint accurate measurements isn’t possible and we have to allow for a half inch (1.27cm) tolerance with all measurements on our jackets.’

The details on the back are different, is it the Levi's one?
Back length is 63cm on a stock size 40.
I'm 1m72 and it just reaches the back pockets so it looks a fraction shorter than it does on @ABCD

Yep, mine is the Levi's Rockabilly. Some small designs changes on the Aero version like the box pleats in the back and the side adjusters facing backwards but the bones of the jacket are the same.

63cm back length on someone who's 1,72m is still longer than the traditional standard length halfbelt jacket. Perfectly suitable for this slightly longer style jacket I'd say.
