The cold is back, not as fierce as a few weeks ago, but a few days of pale warmth have deceived us.
Alexander Sport 1.jpg

Today, a hat that is an enigma. Branded "Alexander Sport," it has the size and manufacturing tag written in English, but no specifications other than numbers.
Alexander Sport 7.jpg
Size 7 3/8 UK, a 60 in Europe, and a 7 1/2 in the US.
The felt is heather and slightly fuzzy with a green background and assorted pale colors.
Alexander Sport 6.jpg
The felt is very firm, but it scrunches easily. It comes from Southern Italy, specifically Sicily. Marketing mysteries.
Very beautiful and out of the ordinary.

Thanks again for your likes. Keep showing me hats; I'm always open to having fun.

A 70's (?) Resistol Hi Binder 3x beaver in mink color. I had to do a lot of reshaping to make this work for me. I really like the trim and ribbon on it. A before pic is included. I loved the original shape (in theory), but It was ridiculously tall and I just couldn't do it. I won't bother posting a pic of how it looked on me. Lol.

Oh, I like that a LOT! First time I've ever encountered that particular model, and LOVE the underbrim binding accent!

In the 70’s a 3X Western would have sold for around $30. At $63.50 I think you might be off by a decade, maybe post- Urban Cowboy era.
Yeah, I started thinking that after I posted. The shape reminded me of an American Hat Co that I have that dates to the late 60's. I struggle with the late 60's to mid-80's dating. The price should have been a clue for me.

Heading out in the fog this morning.. coffee then early voting. Thought Id give the Number 1 quality Stetson a spin. Still havent decided what to do with this one..... its in as-received condition... all Ive done is a bit of brushing. I love the slightly aged look of he ribbon ends... I may very well put a new liner in and then just leave it as it is.

Mr Bear absolutely loves the smells from old hats... every time I walk out in the yard for pics, he runs over to join in and get a sniff or two lol
