I kind of like this. I've been thinking about getting a longer jacket. I'm not sure this is the one but it is interesting. For Sale:
Made in the USA Avirex G-8
Size 40
$150
Flat measurements:
Shoulder: 19”
Chest:20”
Arms: 24”
Length:27”
This one never gets into the rotation and is almost new. Selling because I never use it.

I like those back buckles and button cuffs along with the zip, very interesting modelI kind of like this. I've been thinking about getting a longer jacket. I'm not sure this is the one but it is interesting.
I do have a few questions:
1. Do you know if it's goat or cow (or something else)?
2. What is the width of the jacket at the waist with the cinches opened all the way?
3. Is this $150 US or Canadian?
4. Does the price include shipping or is that extra?
Thanks for any help and GLWS.
Interesting old discussion on the VLJ forum about the G-8I kind of like this. I've been thinking about getting a longer jacket. I'm not sure this is the one but it is interesting.

Yeah, I saw that. There are also some threads on TFL devoted to it. I like the mashup of styles, it's almost the best of all worlds.Interesting old discussion on the VLJ forum about the G-8

I'm pretty assured now that Avirex made some interesting models, some only for USA and Japanese markets, like the Japanese made B7 parka I won today, this is nice thoughYeah, I saw that. I just found this on here, Neil Cooper created the G8, oh and apparently it's GoatskinYeah, I saw that. There are also some threads on TFL devoted to it. I like the mashup of styles, it's almost the best of all worlds.
the design was copied from the jacket Harrison Ford wore in "Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark, that's where I've seen it!Yeah, I saw that. There are also some threads on TFL devoted to it. I like the mashup of styles, it's almost the best of all worlds.
Not sure what you mean, what did you find? And who is Neil Cooper? (Edit: never mind, I found Neil Cooper.)I just found this on here, Neil Cooper created the G8, oh and apparently it's Goatskin

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. I agree this actually looks better than the indie jacket and I found the same early 80sNot sure what you mean, what did you find? And who is Neil Cooper? (Edit: never mind, I found Neil Cooper.)
It looks like goat, but I'd like to be sure. For example, cow is made to look like goat on G-1s produced post-1970ish.
Yes, apparently the G-8 was first made in 1983/84?
I'm actually not a fan of the Indy jacket (I like it in the movies, but not in reality). I like this design much better.
If this helps any, I just found this, yes it's GoatskinNot sure what you mean, what did you find? And who is Neil Cooper? (Edit: never mind, I found Neil Cooper.)

(Edit: there is talk about the G-8 predating the Indy jacket, possibly designed by Cooper in the 1970s.)
This is the photo that sells it for me. This one is from the VLJ thread you posted earlier. I like the russet color in this photo better than the seal brown that is being sold here, but whatever.

Maybe, but I don't know if Avirex might have made one in cow. I'd just like to verify if the seller knows for sure.If this helps any
