First hat of the year 2026. It's cold in Italy, and wide-brimmed hats aren't the best.

Today, during the hottest hours of the day, I wore this French hat made several years ago.
Labolle 7.jpg
Pluribus Unum - Marque Dèposée. Sold by Chapelier Specialiste LABOLLE - Rue des Plantagenet - Angers.

Size 6/59, no other information because the manufacturing label is missing, but all this was already stated a year ago when it was introduced here on FL.

I renew my best wishes for a happy and prosperous 2026 and keep showing off your hats

Thanks Phil!

Thank you!

King's Umbrella started as a small Etsy operation. Brent "Deadly Handsome" found them. The hat maker, Alan, had gotten some felts and did a great job making a few hats for a very very inexpensive price.

It seemed for a minute that once his felts ran out, he closed up shop; but he does have a website now so maybe he is still producing?

Here is TFL's thread for them:

And here is his website:

Would love to hear an update if you do reach out. So far, this was my favorite bespoke hat experience (of three).

Thanks Voo!
Thanks! Brent was always in the know! I will definitely check out the website.

I haven’t been able to see the hat pictures on your last two posts. On your last post, I was able to see the shop front photos, just not the hats. On this one, I can’t see any of the pictures. Disappointing, because I always enjoy your amazing collection.
Gary, Thank you for letting me know. The photos are on my Flickr account. I removed a string after the photo url. Can you see the images below? I went back and checked and Flickr added the extra string after .jpg around mid November 2025.

I also edited the two posts. Can you see the images now?

R. & M, Wegener, possibly later 1920s. The Taupe color Felt has a very soft Hand. The Crown is Tall and has a nice Form. The Brim work is very well executed, with a Hidden Stitch Over Welt. The Wide Band is a Light Golden Brown, which creates a pleasant contrast with the Taupe Color Felt. The Sweatband has some heavy wear especially at the front. The Crown Tip Patch is actually offset. I found this Curled Brim Soft Felt back in 2014.

Yes, I can see those ones, and it’s a beauty!
Gary, Thanks! For some reason the exta string after the jpg file extension doesn't cause any problem when use the image URL outside of the FL. You can see the extra string after .jpg.

htt ps : //live.staticflickr.com/65535/55019938756_0f5da09524_h.jpg?s=eyJpIjo1NTAxOTkzODc1NiwiZSI6MTc2NzQ4MTE0NywicyI6IjIwMzAwZDhiNzQxNmQ0ZTY4YTU1N2VmZjM1MThiOTM5OTY1NTZlZWMiLCJ2IjoxfQ

If you remove the spaces in the beginning of the URL and open a New Tab and paste the URL it should display.

Modern Stetson Excellent quality.

Some of these hats owned by other loungers (such as @hatsRme) say "Pure Beaver" on the sweatband. Mine does not, but I don't know if that means it is not pure beaver.

Whatever it is made of, it's a great hat that came with a not-so-great ribbon and bow. I finally replaced all that with a pugaree and am happy enough with the results for now.

The brim of this hat will do anything I ask it to do, no steam necessary. Its versatility and the robustness of the felt make it a favorite work hat.

Speaking of work, the last two weeks have been a wonderful winter holiday for me with lots of time off, but tomorrow I will be back at the job regularly. I hope everyone's 2026 is starting off in a fantastic way.

Cheers.
