Don’t guess there’s a thread dedicated to the Stetson “Campus” since I can’t seem to find another one ever posted here.
There’s a Stetson advertisement shared by Eric @Short Balding Guy in 2020 who also stated he hasn’t seen one posted.
So, finally, here’s a dark sage green mid 40s Campus in size 7 1/8, but it’s a bit bigger in reality.
Curiously, 2 5/8” brim on the sides and 2 7/16” in front. 1 1/2” hatband. 3/8” copper binding.
As found, I haven’t cleaned or shaped it. View attachment 756616 View attachment 756617 View attachment 756618 View attachment 756619 View attachment 756620 View attachment 756621

Beautiful Dobbs AND a beautiful pup! Definitely scoring ALL the points today, Jim!

Thank you, sir. If you look closely, you can see the other one, too.

Hi this is the first time I’ve worn a fedora in public. Yesterday I wore my new hat to church. It’s the Shirwell in dark charcoal grey from Gamble & ***n. Instead of feeling self conscience, I felt really good. The customer service from Gamble & ***n is superb. I was sent a brown hat by mistake but when I phoned them, the very nice lady sent the correct one along with a returns label even though I told her there was no hurry as it was for me and not someone’s Christmas present. I was stunned that she put such trust in me. I’ve wanted a fedora since decades ago but never had the courage to wear one.

In the spirit of the season I find myself dipping into the stingy well once again. Today is my Mallory, with a 2 inch overwelt brim and back bow.

Dear Sir:

I'm a man after your own heart. I too wear my fedoras when going to Church, usually on a Sunday, in the SW English market town where I live. I personally feel that a good hat just finishes off a jacket-and-tie sort of outfit, as I feel is appropriate for attending church.

Thinking back on it, many years ago, when I lived in the midwest United States, on a Saturday I would see Orthodox Jewish families walking to Synagogue. All of them (including little children) appropriately dressed. And the husband/father would invariably be wearing a proper dark hat. At the time I reflected how much respect I felt for those people, walking - not driving - to their place of worship in a place where nobody walks. Because. I decided, many years later, to adopt that same sensibility to my own life.

A good, proper hat just finishes off a gentleman.s nice outfit. And yours does the job perfectly.

I am conducting a stealth campaign, one I call "Operation Chapeau". Its really about giving other gentlemen "permission" to wear a proper hat when circumstances or weather suggest. If other men see a gentleman, such as yourself, wearing a good hat, then they themselves might feel empowered to do the same. And we all end up the better.

I like the cut of your jib. As one of those Jewish fathers (who actually did live in the Midwest 25 years ago). I appreciate you noticing.
