Mildew smell 100% deal breaker. Once i notice it i can’t not.
Brings up a good question - maybe a good topic for it's own thread. Why people think storing leather or wool jackets in a garage, or a basement (with no dehumidifier) is a good idea? I get it, space, etc. but it just kills these things. :(

How long does it take to set in? I’m guessing this is a years or decades thing?

Note that mold spores are everywhere, always in the air.

Sometimes been in a apartment not having a tumble dryer and it's damp or cold outside we dry on a drying rack but always open a window, not only bad for health, mould but not good for leather, I've spoke to British veterans who were in the jungle ww2 and said leather especially boots literally rots away, then they introduced purpose made jungle boots and aertex clothing

Not yet, hopefully will have it relatively soon.

This was not steal find but it's one of the most interesting wool jackets I've seen, couldn't resist.

Isn't there any way to shore up the shoulders on the MN woolen with a tastefully done suede or leather overlay on the shoulders? The rest of the jacket looks solid.

Guess we'll soon see about Rugged West jackets.
I snagged one for a good price, and if it's not to my liking I'll turn it around on here for the same price I picked it up for. Photos & details soon forthcoming.
This arrived today. Short story - a Return request has already been posted to the original seller.

It's the tightest "Large" I have ever tried on - and in weird areas. Middle of the sleeves almost too tight to get my arms through. Yet the sleeves barely tighten at all when zipped closed. Mid-section of the body is very tight. 22" pit to pit, and double-ended YKK zipper is fussy and appears very used (heavy wear in the brass). Brown "paint" on the brass lapel snaps. Leather looks like it's painted. I'll get together a more proper review but I did take dimension photos of it. Going back it the box straightaway.

I'm not sure, I think its not so bad but I could be very wrong. If not it'll be posted on ebay to where I'll sell it for a bit of a loss. The IG guys are so funny, razor thin margins - they will wait out a year to make an extra 100 bucks. If I gambled wrong I ship it off immediately.

Razor thin margins? He most likely paid $20 at a thrift store for that jacket. He told me he'd be willing to let it go for $600 lol. I didn't bother making an offer.
Yea, that’s why I waited a year and came back to it. Yes razor thin margins - the amount of junk you have to sift through at goodwills and thrift stores to actually find something valuable takes up endless time. Hence when they actually find something that has value they need to get as much as they possibly can. Capiche?
