Fair point. It’s based on Aero’s D-1 pattern and is labeled as such. This one was a custom order, so some details differ from a strict repro. Reminiscent of the USN M-445A and AN-J-4, I agree.
That threw me too, label says D1 yet it should have side slash zipped pockets, even to be a ANJ-4 or m455a it should have buttoned pockets mm
Those pockets are A2 not anything from a sheepskin
Yes, good eye. The pockets were specified as part of the custom order. Aero allows quite a bit of flexibility if you ask. It’s built on their D-1 pattern, but not a strict reproduction.
It's different, like having a A2 for winter and I guess you can ask whatever you like in a custom order
I remember that years ago they even had a page on their site with photos of customer custom builds, one guy in particular had several made, some with very interesting results, and I think he was also a member over at VLJ.
