The Campdraft really WAS a good choice today.... Someone who shall remain nameless decided to enlarge his mud feature out in the yard this morning...lol. ( It took 2 cu ft of dirt to refill it in)..Its wintertime so I dont have a waterhose hooked up..... I was out on my knees in the rain with a big tub full of warm water scrubbing Mr Bear back to a dingy white state. Hat survived just fine. Oh the joy of Labrador puppies

Especially white labs!

Got to love the green ones! Here is my choice for this VERY cold (zero this morning) December day, Puerto Fino. This one is VERY soft and has a 3" brim to boot! Color is a bit darker than it photographs.

Yes, I like their hats, really nice soft finish. I have a few and this particular one is my favorite. The only hats with a similar soft finish I have are a couple of Worth & Worth ones, and I believe their felt also come from South America.
Worth and Worth also carried hats, I believe, from the Colombian factory that produced and owned the Puerto Fino brand. That same factory produced hats for Bencraft (@steur's stores) and under the Barbisio name for sale in the US. The owners lived in Miami and owned Hats and Hats in North Miami Beach. I don't know the current status of the factory (opened, closed, new ownership?), but the wife of the couple uses the name Puerto Fino for her own handmade creations and told me awhile ago that she was opening stores in Atlanta. Who knows?

Too dark to be Caribou?
I think so. I have no idea what Stetson might have called the color. The color may have only been available for a couple of yrs. If there was such a thing as a centennial hat they certainly weren’t marked. And they could have used the boxes for a few yrs before & after 1965. So I don’t know it’s anything special. Just a nice OR.

Day 2 of the Federation IV into work. Some wet-fitting and a little warmth to soften and fit my head better, it’s feeling less like a helmet and more comfortable overall. And given that today it’s -2 *C out, the added warmth of thick felt is noticeable.

Somewhat self conscious but also can’t help but like it, especially since the dimensional brim gives good protection without looking overly wide, so while I’m open to others opinions I’m thinking that it’s actually a fairly proportional fit.

Sharp as a tack, my friend! Any word on the new one's ETA?
Thanks brother. The Dobbs Fifteen is on a truck heading to Atlanta from Florida. That's all I know right now, but you can bet I am tracking that thing 4 or 5 times a day!

(Edit: tracking just updated: it's in Murfreesboro, TN. It's coming FedEx so maybe Saturday delivery? I don't dare to hope for tomorrow... )
