A great day for the old Mallory.

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Mines decently soft and holds any shape I bang into it... Definately more of a "going to town" hat and not a fishing lid lolThank you, gentlemen!
Yes, they could be siblings. Is the felt on yours very soft? Mine is extremely soft with a wonderful hand. Alan at King's Umbrella did not know the provenance of the felt or even what it is: I believe it might be hare and beaver mixed.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!Today my "it is a Blizzard Out There" Hat.....a Barlesoni with 3 inch brim.

Huckel Eta "Seal Velour" made in Czechoslovakia and sold in Le Havre, France. Size 6 or 59 cm. or 7 3/8 in US
Like most Huckels made before the war and immediately afterward, and for a good while afterward, the quality is exquisite.

Every now and then, I'd like to discover a deposit of velour felts and be able to touch them simultaneously to get the feeling. It would be great!

I dusted off the velour, the pile, and anything else I've worked with felt with a fur.
Thank you for all your compliments, which are mutual, and have a good day to all of you fellow hat-lovers.

Good morning Stefan, having seen your comment in the, "Show Us Their Hats," thread, the Borsalino Vaiato underlines your remarks. The hats of the week. It's Sunday after all. Black Sunday maybe? It's been a mostly black hat week (with some doubles). Let's see.

Thank you, Robert. This one changes colour from light grey to cream and back depending on the lighting.Good morning Stefan, having seen your comment in the, "Show Us Their Hats," thread, the Borsalino Vaiato underlines your remarks.
It's unusual to have a grey ribbon with a cream coloured hat, but it works so well.
A hat and a pet in one. And it doesn't come begging for food! Wonderful hat, Daniele. You've seen the latest fur arrivals.
oday, Sunday, we return to the old ones, gathered in four hat cases where they've been together for years.

A Borsalino Qualità Ssuperiore in the "Ghiaccio" color, with a "Marina" hatband, meaning dark blue.
View attachment 751063
It arrived a few years ago in less than perfect condition (see the ribbon), but has been petted and brought to a good state.

Every time I find a "furry" Borsalino, I wonder where the felt comes from—whether it's homemade or supplied by another manufacturer.
View attachment 751065
In this case, the felt is extremely soft and very malleable, of medium weight.
The rest will arrive in the next few days, weather permitting.

I take this opportunity to wish you a happy Sunday and thank you for your kind words.
Hey Nathan—Anybody have any idea what happened to David? This appears to be his last post and after that, nothing. He is missed.
Great to see you back on here, David!Hey Nathan—
Thanks for the kind words!
I’m alive and well—trying to give my brain a break from social media/the internet in general and give my wallet a break from buying hats. Not entirely successful on either front but doing pretty well. As Phil noted, I have been downsizing as well—trying to get down to just the hats I really like and actually wear. I did join Brent’s vintage hat group on FB but have only popped in a couple of times.
Hope you are well, feeling healthy and, of course, enjoying the fine fedora weather!
Cheers,
David
